Gibson Artists Celebrate 40th Anniversary of Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band with New Recordings
Oasis, the Killers, and Razorlight are just a few of the Gibson artists confirmed to re-record the Beatles’ legendary Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band in honor of its 40th anniversary.
Gibson artists James Morrison, the Fratellis, and the Kaiser Chiefs will also take part in the special recording sessions for BBC Radio 2.

To record the new versions, audio engineer Geoff Emerick will use the same one-inch four-track equipment that he used during the original 1967 sessions. The results will be aired on BBC Radio 2 on June 2, a day after the anniversary.
Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band was released June 1, 1967, and went on to be regarded as one of the best and most influential releases in rock history. George Martin, who produced the original, has said, “For me, it was the most innovative, imaginative, and trend-setting record of its time.”
