Thanks to new guitar and FX pedals models that faithfully reproduce the gear used by Jimi Hendrix in the 60's, never before the possibility of recreating his sound has been so easily available to us mere mortals.
Dunlop has released three FX pedals that are the most accurate reproductions of his pedals that have ever been made available to the public. The Jimi Hendrix Signature Wah, Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face and Jimi Hendrix Octavio look and sound the part: from the material they've been built with to the electronics, everything feels and sounds authentic.

The wah-wah pedal was just invented when Hendrix burst on the scene in 1967. And to this day, few players’ names are more synonymous with killer wah leads and wicked, wah-driven syncopated rhythms. Dunlop JIMI HENDRIX™ FUZZ FACE
The Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face is a meticulously faithful reproduction of the 1969-70 Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face that Jimi used on classic albums like Band of Gypsys. Dunlop’s engineering department examined hoards of vintage Fuzz Faces, honing in on a few units which possessed that unmistakable Jimi voodoo. VIEW ITEM
Dunlop JIMI HENDRIX™ OCTAVIO PEDAL
A true Rock N’ Roll artifact—Hendrix’s chipped, off-white, “cheese wedge” pedal with hand stenciled lettering—is enshrined at the Experience Music Project, Seattle’s hallowed rock and roll museum. Jimi’s original octave dividers don’t look like much, but these magic boxes produced the unforgettable fuzzed-out octave tones heard on the legendary Band of Gypsys: Live at Fillmore East performance. Gibson Custom Jimi Hendrix ”Inspired By” Series Flying V
Perhaps the most exciting release, though, is the Gibson Custom Shop masterful recreation of Jimi Hendrix's psychedelic Flying V guitar.
A meticulous recreation of the mysterious Flying V that Hendrix used on tour in Europe in 1967 and 1968, the guitar features exacting reproductions of Jimi's own hand-painted designs that graced the original. Originally done in what appears to be nail polish, the swirling, psychedelic designs have been painstakingly rendered by artist Bruce Kunkel in close conjunction with the Custom Shop.
“In brainstorming sessions with the folks at the Custom Shop, we tried to imagine the conditions under which Hendrix created this artwork. He was probably on the road, using whatever was at hand for paint. It could have been poster paint, nail polish, acrylics, or hobby enamels. We will never know.” said Kunkel.
“It was done quickly and with confidence - a direct, immediate expression of what he was feeling at the moment. I remember thinking that if someone handed me a guitar to paint I would never have come up with the images that Jimi painted. They were totally personal and came directly from his spirit: hearts, flowers, leaves, kissing lips, and of course, 'love drops.' ”
There’s no question that you can feel Jimi’s personal expression in the work. When he played this guitar, it must have dropped jaws twice - sonically and visually!
