Weller launches Gibson Guitartown

Published: Wed December 06, 2006  News Feed
A new campaign set up by Gibson to help raise money for a number of charities, including the Prince's Trust, has been launched by Paul Weller in London.

Gibson Guitartown London will see thirty ten foot fibreglass guitars designed by household names such as Paul Weller and Brian May displayed around London from June 2007.

A pocket map will be available for fans to visit their favourite guitarist's contributions, which will be hand painted by London based visual artists. After public display, the sculptures will be auctioned off for the benefit of Nordoff-Robbins, the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Prince's Trust.

“I am proud to be associated with the Gibson Guitartown London campaign,” commented Weller on his contribution. “It combines my passion and appreciation for the guitar, whilst raising money and awareness for three very worthy and deserving charities.”
