Ibanez EP9 RRB Euphoria Steve Vai Signature Reviews
I bought this guitar from dolphin, well actually I bought 2, this was one of them and the other was a Jem7V, they arrived next day in perfect condition, thanks
Now to the guitar, the attention to detail is fantastic ....every serious guitar buyer must have one of these on the wall, plays great and looks even better
Looks alone start to suggest what to expect.
Picking it up for the first time, it felts "too" light and flimsy but once I started playing it, it began to make sense why Vai put his name on it.
Most acoustic guitars lose intonation the further up you go but this guitar stays in tune throughout.
More frets in tune, gives you more ideas for chords and parts that sound right.
More musically inspiring!
Unplugged the guitar has a flexible, light and airy sound until you push the lower strings to bring out bassier tones. It's no mudfest of muffled growls, the right picking style brings out the subtlety of the acoustic voice within the guitar. Sustain is all there too which surprised me for such a light instrument.
The onboard electronics promise much and delivered.
The Fishman Matrix Aura Acoustic Imaging system pickup and onboard electronics - are subtle and useful too!
You really do get the unplugged sound louder when you plug in! There are enough variations of mic choice and mic position to give you sounds that combine with the onboard 3 band eq and the Pickup output to spawn a dozen or so variations of the six root tones.
It plays easy, looks good and sounds great.
Whatever you play will come out of this guitar. It won't fight you or limit your choices. It just looks, plays, feels and sounds "right".
