Ibanez TCM50 Talman Electro Acoustic Guitar in Vintage Brown Sunburst Reviews
Bought this guitar recently ... great service as ever from Dolphin... placed order 3pm on a Friday and received it Sat morning (now that is great service!)
This is lot of guitar for not a lot of money ... great looking and a great sound. It is a little smaller all round than a jumbo acoustic so its easier to cart around etc .. the set up is nice and low which makes it an easy play .. only reason it doesn\'t get 10 is that the sound could be just a bit \"brighter\" .. but then for the money this is not really a fair criticism (this may be improved by different strings). Having a built in tuner is great, although you need to have it plugged in for it to work. If you want to hear it play have a look on You Tube, there is some lady there playing one which gives a good preview of the quality of sound. I can\'t recommend this guitar highly enough.. just go and buy it ..
Thsi is absoutely great guitar! The price of £170 is great as it looks and is finished more like a guitar of £500 - the sound when not amplified is loud enough although no way near as loud as a normal acoustic but can still fill a school classroom. When plugged in it is even better and you can also play it through a rocky/blues tone and it sounds nice and mellow - for jazz and blues its up there with electrics. The action is also very nice if getting a bit high near the 15th plus frets but you can get that sorted. I would also prefer smaller scales strings but you can get this sorted yourself. Overall the guitar is awesome, it sounds great, looks great and you should buy it!
I sold my long standing Tanglewood electro acoustic Odyssey just before xmas to buy a new electro acoustic guitar. This is just Fantastic value for money. It OOzes quality and build materials. One thing that impressed me with this guitar was how it just played straight of the box. No setting up reqd at all. It was great. (See my other review for the Ibanez AEG10-VBS electro acoustic.) The AEG is fuller sounding than this one, but this model is easier to play due to the increased upper register fretboard access. Only one minor quibble I have is that on the AEG10 the built in tuner is accessible without being plugged into an amp but this built in tuner only works if you ARE plugged into an amp, why oh why? Only minor I know but that\'s the reason for not giving it the full 10/10 it deserves just for sheer quality and value for money. Go and buy it! It\'s brill. Can\'t wait for the hard cases to come back in stock to protect it.
I just love this guitar! I love the design and love the sound. Really good for such price. Bought it on spring 2008 and I\'m still excited every time I play it. It\'s beautiful and looks more expensive as it is!
I LOVE this guitar! Had an Epi AJ and just couldn\'t get on with the size, so when I found this on the net I knew it would be better suited for me.
I didn\'t actually buy from Dolphin but if I had I\'d have saved £25!
I have only been playing for 6 months and am having lessons and my tutor comments nearly every week on what a lovely tone this has and how he can\'t believe it wasn\'t more expensive. And boy does she look good!
I seriously think you\'d struggle to find a nicer guitar for less than £200 and if you want the feel of an eletric in an acoustic then I don\'t think you can go wrong with this little beauty!
Would say that I was advised the get the action lowered a little on mine and it is much better for it, hence only 9 out of 10, but any decent local shop should do this for a small fee (mine charged £10).
