Trace Elliot Trace Elliot AH 600-7 Bass Amplifier Head Reviews
A lot of people say that solid state amps don\\\'t have the \\\"warmth\\\" of a valve driven amp, but if it\\\'s not a tired, generic \\\"rounded\\\" bass tone you want, a solid state amp does just fine! And this is one great example of what a solid state can do.
I run my Rickenbacker 4003 bass clean through this amp and it provides me with the best tone I\\\'ve ever been able to conjure. With the graphic EQ it\\\'s easy to boost and accentuate the characteristics of the tone of your bass. In my case, I love my Rickenbacker\\\'s trebley bite, and boosting the high-mid and high frequencies on the graphic EQ really brings that out in my sound whilst being able to retain the solid bass frequencies underneath.
The compressor adds further diversity to your options when it comes to tone, and it really makes a big difference to your sound.
With regard to volume, this amp has plenty of headroom. It easily has enough beef to provide me with the volume I need in the gigs I play in pubs/clubs/ballrooms etc. Any larger or outdoors gigs will typically DI the bass straight through to the house speakers anyway, and this amp comes equipped with a handy DI socket just for that!
This amp is a sturdy mofo too. Over the time I\\\'ve owned this amp, it\\\'s been dropped a couple of times and been in the back of a van a lot - and the only evidence of this is the scratches on the exterior, which could have been avoided if I wasn\\\'t too lazy to put the cover on that comes free with it!
All in all, I find this to be one fantastic amp, certainly the best I\\\'ve ever owned; Plenty of tonal options and diversity, a shedload of headroom for volume, sturdy as anything and comes with a 1 year manufacturer\\\'s warranty to boot. A really sound investment for any bass player.
