I bought this after a fellow producer recommended the HD valve and ribbon mics to me. They are both at stunning prices for their quality, the ribbon giving the old school and this the new sound. A bright and tranparent mic, we were impressed with it next to the Neumann. It is as they say pretty much universal in use from vocals and overheads to double bass and brass. Some good quotes and endorsements on their website as well. It souned more gutsy with the foam cover they provide over the top and more transparent without. Great mic.
This is a remarkable vintage looking and sounding ribbon mic. It sounds and looks old school and does not try to be a new shiny valve based ribbon mic. Incredible on nylon strings and traditional instruments, gritty and transparent as a room mic. I even tried it as a darker mic on overheads and guitar cabs. It isn't bright but it has got guts. Heartedly recommended as is their valve mic. I am hoping tey produce some more.
