Great amp, much more depth than my 60w fender super, only two faults that i can find, one the control knobs are chrome with a tiny dot to show you were you are on the scale of 1 to 10, you cant see it in a dimly lit pub (if you wear glasses then u need then on)reverb is only from the control knob, not the floor pedal, which i feel is a poor design fault, i play a gibson les paul through this amp, doing classic rock and its superb.I bought this amp from dolphin a few months ago, and would highly recommend it.
I was initially drawn to this amp purely because it looks cool, and the fact that it has a stealth setting for practice use at home. The first impression is that this is an extremely well made amp, with very rugged all metal construction. It comes in a very tidy bag, complete with a hand numbered certificate signed by Dave Green (ex-Matamp/Orange guru, and builder of this amp). The amp also comes with a footswitch to control the MOFO gain boost. These details make all the difference and only compliment an extremely attractive package.

All very impressive so far, and I\'m delighted to say that it only gets better once you fire it up. First of all it looks great, keeping up the boutique amp appearance with the valves visibly glowing behind the black metal grille. This is a single channel amp, but an extra gain stage can be added with the footswitch. The amp has two inputs, biased for a \"UK\" and \"USA\" tone. I play mainly thrash/speed Metal (Megadeth, Pantera, Children of Bodom etc) and had read reviews saying that this amp wasn\'t suitable for such applications. Don\'t belive a word of it, once you kick in the mofo boost there is more than enough gain! the tone also has a superb organic vibrancy, rather like a Marshall, but with a slightly more modern edge. The amp is rated at 30 Watts, but is easily loud enough for gigging.

One of my favourite things about this amp is it\'s simplicity, there aren\'t a huge amount of knobs and controls, but it\'s almost impossible to dial in a poor sound. The EQ and presence controls are very effective indeed, working interactively with one another.
I suspect this amp was designed with classic rock players in mind, but it has potential for far higher gain applications whilst retaining a great tone. It\'s a keeper, as I can see me using this for many years.
I own a Marshall silver jubilee and anybody that does should be happy. However, when I heard somebody playing through a Hayden I couldn\'t believe the warm sound it omitted.Classic sounds that you would only find on high price original VOX Ac30s!If anything these amplifiers are under priced for what they offer! We played everything from a 100 quid strat copy through to a masterbuildt fender custom shop strat and this small 40 watt combo made them all sound fantastic!
At the price on offer, buy one! You\'ll never regret it, a fantastic studio amp as well!

This amp is incredible! Was hoping itd be good but nothing prepared me for the tone and sheer volume this thing is capable of. Really can do lovely clean and great AC/DC crunch up to real high gain when you bring in the extra Mofo gain. Really well made too. Cant see me ever wanting to part with this. This amp is so awesome, the smell of it when it was in the bag (i love new plastic smell)

At first I was playing it on the full 30 watt mode going jesus this is a bit loud until I realised it wasn\'t on the stealth mode, turned that on and got it cooking.

I personally prefer the american voicing for clean and higher gain, and the british for a mid range cruch, sounds so amazing when you kick in the Mofo stage with the footswitch.

More than enough gain for a metal rhythm when cranked but I think I may invest in a tube screamer to really push it over the edge.

I\'m running mine through a Framus 112, still need to wait for the speaker to break in so I bet it will sound even better soon!

What I love most about the amp is the deep grinding bassy crunch you get in the UK input with the Mofo mode on to around 4\'o clock. Such a deep bassy sound....exactly what I wanted, maybe my Framus Cab has something to do with it as I\'m using a Celestion \'Hot 100\'.

My first ALL tube amp, I\'ve had some in the past that claim to be, but use solid state distortion.

Never thought my epiphone sg would sound this good and still cannot get over what amazing value for money it is.
Realy digg the brutal sound of tubes screming for air. I record and play with this blond bomb on 60 watts. LotEURs of power to tweek and bend with the 3 band eq. I play on a Gibson Special and it make the cords sing endless and with a brillians in the mid register that friends think am slaying unicorns.

On the backside it has numbers of diffrent outputs, effectloop, lineout, switch for 4/8ohm speaker and a levelweele for the return signal. In other words plenty of room for diffrent setups.
Locking for a 212 speaker insted of the borrowed 412. My speakerbox was in 32ohm so IEURll have to do with the a main brand 412.
One minus is that it came without a 4-way footswitch so theres parts of the amp that I havenEURt heard (boost, chorus and reverb) but IEURam going to get one to use the amp as it sould be used. Hope the critics have wrong for it is a hell of a good sounding amp.
Sound kills!
I got one of these yesterday after reading the review in Guitarist and thought would give my first impression quickly. First thing is it is absolutely beautifully made and looks very cool when turned on as the inside lights up(simple things - simple minds eh) and you can see all the valvey goodness inside which is just lovely. The cabinet is also very neat and the pots all feel firm and move smoothly. Anyways soundwise its awesome! Channel one crunchs up like an old plexi with the gain set about halfway and up to a more hot rodded marshallesque sound with the gain up three quaters or so, its a stunning classic rock rhythm tone. Channel 2 has an extra gain stage so breaks up more easily and goes up yo a full on roar easily enough for some detuned riffage and solos just seem to sustain forever. The other cool feature which I havent had on any amp before is the shade control of which there is one on each channel, this seems to work as an eq filter and as you click around from left to right the tone thickens up and set to optimal thick shade the sound is massive and its cool you can click around and find the sound in your head depending on what guitar you are using. The eq is simple treble, middle and bass and works really well and makes dialing in different sounds really easy.

All in all I have never been happier with an amp and all my distotian pedals are now redundant as the amp just sounds great, I play a les paul and mainly classic to heavy rock and this is just perfect for this amp.

Anyway I am looking forward to getting to know this amp properly and gigging but right now I cant see me changing amps for a very long time.

Here is the Guitarist Magazine review also;

Bought the flat version of this to go with a 5W Harley Benton GA5H, together they create a beautifully clean sound, no noise or colouration whatsoever from the speaker, sounds exactly the same through the speaker as it does plugged straight into the mixing desk. All in all one of the best cabinets I\'ve used at an amazing price. (And on top of all that it looks so good you want to take it home to mother)
Had mine for 6 months and can honestly say it\'s the best purchase I have ever made. Using this with the Hayden 412f cab, it just sounds the nuts.
This is ridiculously cheap at 799, I paid 1400.
I heard that Hayden have a revised range coming out, but don\'t wait cos the replacement for this baby will cost a lot more and probably not be much different. I mean, amp technology doesn\'t change much really, so a good \'un will always be good!
Recommended.
As Hayden go, even they cant be modest about how good this head really is.

i went from a Peacemaker 2x12 which was also a wonderful piece of gear, to this, and within what, half a bar of the first song my band plays i was in AWE!

the clean tones will give you goosebumps, and although not overly powerful, the gain still churns out some brilliant distorted vibes.

i only give it a 8 due to the only two things that let it down.
1. the price! 1550 is a hell of alot, and tbh i wish id waited if i knew it'd go down this low, but for 850, you'd be daft NOT to buy it.
2. theirs only one channel. Fantasitc if your the sort that uses an array of stompboxes, this is fine by using the effects send return, but after using the peacermaker, which uses its own 4 way 2 channel switch, you kinda miss it when using this thing live.

other than that, if you've read ALL of this, then you'd be daft not to buy one =)
I bought this head a couple of months ago and thought I should share my experience so far!

It's a Hayden Peacemaker 60 watt all valve head, using 4 x 12AX7s and two EL34's. I play in a covers band (mainly 60s/70s rock, soul & disco) so flexibility is important to me. The Peacemaker has a superb array of tones over the two channels and allows me to stamp my own identity on the songs rather than just copying the original. I can get a crisp clean sound and a wide range of distortion, with various options available from the (included) 4 button footswitch.

There are two channels, clean and dirty. Each has its own gain, eq and volume. There is a digital reverb (which I found rather aggressive if set high but sounds nice and lush on a low setting) and digital chorus - one setting, footswitchable only but sounds OK and is more than usable.

The back houses a wealth of sockets for speakers, effects loops (with volume control) and a speaker emulated line out which sounded pretty good when plugged into our PA for bigger gigs. There is also a switch for the cooling fan, though I tend to just leave this on.

Overall I love this head, it's easily loud enough for pub and club gigs and I have not yet needed to go over half way on the channel and master volumes. Anything bigger would in any case go through the PA.

One really neat feature is the (footswitchable) dual master volume, so you can set rhythm and solo levels without having to change channels. Why don't all amps do this?

I run the head into a matching Hayden 4x12 cab which really pushs some air! Soundwise, channel 1 goes from lovely fendery clean up to a voxish classic crunch with the volume and gain up a bit. The EQ is very broad and you do need to tweak around to find the best sounds dependent on what guitar you're using, I actually like this as you can really find your own sound and not just the sound the amp designer wants you to have. Channel 2 ala the dirty channel has a great classic Brit rock tone somewhere between a Marshall and a hi gain Hiwatt(no doubt thanks to the EL34's) but comes with a footswitchable boost which shoves you into more modern high gain territory. I have used it with a Manson superstrat, SG and PRS Custom 24 and have no complaints about the range and quality of tones on offer. For what I do at least I have not had to use gain settings higher than about 2 o'clock. The boost is a handy tool for launching into rock solos.

Other cool features are the blonde tolex covering,(never had so many people eyeing up my rig), the dual leather carrying handles,

Whoever designed this has really thought about the needs of a gigging musician. Fantatic sounding, different looking and best thing of all, affordable! I think if mine was stolen i would definitely get another.

Ok, the Disclaimer part: I\'m no pro, just play for pleasure. I went through about a dozen various setups I owned or played at my friends\'s studios and have formed my own idea how my guitar should sound. The review consists of two parts: first impressions and overall usage impressions. Ok, let\'s go!

First impressions:
I was looking for a versatile smooth sounding combo on a budget. After plugging I just stopped after hearing the 1 channel clean strong saturated tone. It was clear, yet full of power. Cranking up the gain gave an even more powerful crunch sound. This already had me sold as it would be perfect with some stomp-boxes. Whatever, channel 2.. nice saturated easy going overdrive, very nicely controlled, good for rhythm. Giving it more gain didn\'t produce any lead tone... until I noticed the \"BOOST\" part on the footswitch. It was strong ant nasty, screaming out and heavy on the bass and a very controlable treble. WOW! So I bought it.

The overall usage part:

The sound: Nice full-bodied tone on both channels, clear clean to cranky crunch, smooth overdrive to a screaming lead, almost heavy enough for nu-metal. Very wide tone controls but still you can\'t go wrong with the extremes.
The controls: Gain and volume, bass, mid and trebble seperate for each channel, simple reverb (sounds good though) and two master volume knobs(!). On the footswitch: channel select, boost for channel 2 (don\'t miss it!!!), effect(turns on chorus, sounds crappy), and master switch (for one or the other setting, great for dynamic songs)

Conclusion:
Pros: A great sounding all-tube combo for this price!!? Extreme value!!! Very usable and looks kinda cool too ;)
Cons: Crappy chorus, would have liked to have the reverb switch instead.
I needed a smaller amp as the days of lugging my trusty 4x12 and head are coming to an end! However, I don't want to sacrifice my tone and i've always been a sucker for a valve amp so I knew I wanted a valve amp small enough to move around easily but with enough power to cut through at small gigs. Sooo, I saw the new 'Peacemaker' range on the Hayden website and decided I needed to try one out.

First thing that struck me is how beautiful the amp is made, the blonde tolex looks fantastic and is so refreshing in a world of black. The gold corners and brown leather handles complete the expensive looking classy finish. All the amps in the range also come with a very solid 4 way footswitch that controls Channels 1 to 2, Boost on channel 2, Master Volume 1 + 2 and the inbuilt chorus so all the features are easily controlable which is great.

Channel 1 is very vintage voiced and with gain set very low you are rewarded with stunning fenderesque glassy clean sounds, add more gain and the tone crunchs up to a Voxish tone with the volume up and gain on full a great AC/DC type rock crunch can be found. 70's heaven!

Channel 2 is a much more modern affair and sounds very much like a hot rodded marshall, plenty of gain on offer with singing sustain and perfect for those classic rock foot on the monitor moments, there is also a boost function on channel 2 which gives you a bit more gain and slight volume increase to help you cut through when you need to for solos etc again this is a great feature.

The two independent master volumes are great as you can set them differently meaning you can keep the sound you want but be louder or quieter at the click of the footswitch, very very useful. The inbuilt chorus is a slight gimmick but surprisingly I have been using it quite a bit on my clean sounds, its very useable and another nice feature.

All in all the is a superb valve amp which has totally blown me away this is without even taking into account the price which really is very affordable for the quality and features that you get. Try/Buy one now! Unless you play thrash metal you will not be dissapointed.
