Well...Do I want to spend 21.95p on a DVD? The answer is YES. On this particular DVD....Why? because I cannot afford a full recording course. So in for a penny in for a pound( So\'s to speak.)As I didn\'t expect to much I think I got my money\'s worth( That\'s important!) and was pleasantly surprised,(as in NOT let down...) I can actualy compare it to a much more expensive and less informative DVD on the same subject I purchased elsewhere last year. The Basics of Modern Recording & Mixing DVD I found very useful, with quite a lot of good pointers on all the right subjects for the novice, from your studio or ( bedroom) lay out, to how to record your instruments and voices and the different types of mics to use . Each section is well delivered, almost homely, (naff! that might sound)and gets you to think and learn about the different parts, from your studio or( bedroom setup )to how to draw out the sound you want to mix, without losing you in over expensive equipment you might not be able to afford.And for anyone like myself who isn\'t well up on EQ-ing and compression,it also helps you to understand how this very important aspect of an instruments sound can effect your mixing out come. The section titled The Big Secret,is also well worth absorbing....as this covers one very important topic. Overall I\'d say; A well rounded, good investment for anyone wanting to learn a lot very cheaply! just enough to suffiently get you off the ground and running!
