After using Cubase for many years but recently encountering lots of problems, I decided to give the Mbox 2 a try. I was apprehensive but I needn\'t have been. The hardware is simpicity itself and the protools software is very good (albeit I find it a little strange after working with Cubase for so long). The additional virtual instruments such as the Xpand synth are also excellent. Really pleased with this purchase and would recommend this to anyone who\'s interested in recording/making their own music.

Having previously had an issue with another item I ordered from the site, only to find out months later that it was out of Stock (Dean ZX hard case), I was a little wary of ordering through Dolphin music again, especially with another item that kept selling out so quickly. Nevertheless, I kept checking a few times every day in case some more came into stock - they sell out very fast everywhere, they\'re brilliant little bits of kit, do persist! Luckily for me, not only did eight come into stock when I ordered mine, but they were also at the cheapest price of any site I looked on. I quickly ordered! As I say, I was a little dubious about ordering through Dolphin from my previous bout of bad luck. Not any more! I couldn\'t believe how fast I recieved my Mbox! I received my MBox Mini within 2 days from Dolphin Music. The bundled software Pro Tools 8 is a substantial leap from using software such as Nuendo and Cubase. Although it surely is the best music production software around, one significant drawback is the Computer Processor consumption. (Suggestion only) I would recommend anyone who wants to use Pro Tools 8 to have a dual core or quad core processor with 2-4Gb of RAM memory. The MBox interface is light and strong it certainly doesnt feel cheap.

For a small home/bedroom studio in the making, the Mbox 2 really is a great product to start off with. Firstly, ignore the lower \"average rating\" for the product, that is because of ndongo\'s (presumeably accidental) rating of 1/10. Secondly, don\'t worry about the \"Pro Tools LE 8 via download\", the installation disc comes in the box (+ a tutorial DVD and a disc of Audio Loops and Samples) This product pretty much covers everything you need to get started with an audio interface for your little studio. The simple and easy connection via USB and Phantom Power are great features. Set up is pretty much self handled; Just connect it to the computer when prompted during the Pro Tools installation and the rest is sorted for you. One thing, just for the people that haven\'t had much experience / Don\'t understand all of the tech specs: The \"Mix\" knob balances between \"What is playing on the computer\" and \"What you are recording\". For example; If you were recording vocals (using headphones), with the mix knob, you could have the vocalist hear ONLY the mix (knob fully left), ONLY his voice (knob fully right), or a bit of both (knob anywhere in between). I haven\'t had much time to give it extensive use, and that is the only reason I haven\'t given it a full 10/10. I haven\'t come across a single problem so far, and can\'t forsee that I will anytime soon. A perfect sollution.

If you are into your home recording, and want to be able to produce great results for your money, this is hands down the hardware to buy, and it comes with Pro Tools LE 8 on a disk, not as a download as it says here, which is great. I work in radio, and this means I can bring my work home. Compared to other DAWs, such as Adobe which is also common in radio, this is unbelievably fast, efficient, and the quality is fantastic. For those who don\'t really know much about processing such as EQ, compression, gates, or effects like reverb, chorus, etc, pro tools 8 comes with some pre sets which while they are not perfect, they are a good start for the average person looking to learn more. One thing to note, if you are solely looking to use MIDI, I personally would recommend Cubase 4 or Logic. I just find them much easier to use and more efficient for MIDI recording than pro tools, however pro tools are always getting better with this! However, perhaps this is because I used Cubase and Logic years before I used pro tools.... who knows. One thing\'s for sure, for a high quality and dead easy to use audio production package, the Mbox2 is the one to get.

Pro Tools 8 for PC great, moving slowly up the learning curve and beginning to understand why it\'s superior to other apps. The card has many steps of low latency adjustment and also in the Box is a handy instructional DVD for Pro tools 7 but is quite easily translated in version 8. The new RTAS instruments packaged are fantastic e.g Xpand 2,Boom plus many extras. BUT..... This product is aimed at the pure D.A.W market. As it is recommended in the instructions to use a separate sound card for games and other general work. So I have to use my onboard sound card to listen to other sounds e.g movies. Not what I\'m used too, but worth it for Pro tools 8 and the new instruments alone.

I bought this at the beginning of the year and never looked back. Upgrading from Cubase to Protools was the best idea ever! The quality of the sound is remarkable. Plenty of ins and outs to use to your hearts content. Am now saving up to upgrade to a 003.

I purchased an Mbox 2 factory based on a recommendation from a tutor and have been majorly impressed. This product is definately value for money and reliable. The additional software that comes with it bumps up the value. The inputs are high quality and the ProTools interface is simple and powerful. If you are looking for a product similar to this in this price range this should be your buy!

Man it rocks! I have used a POD v2 for recording on ProTools LE through a MBox for the past few years but have been frustrated by getting a good stand alone sound then finding it doesn't work in the mix. I had to go the re-amping route and looked at all the different packages. There is a large variation in price and quality but I couldn't get away from the fact that the SansAmp is so intuitive to use. The effects are just as intuitive and very very easy to programme - good analogue feel. WARNING - TL space reverb if absolutely addictive - I've played with it for hours and hours and hours. It is impossible to resist checking how your old mixes would sound in the back of a VAN!!!

First of all I have to thank Dolphin Music. Im from Austria (thats quite far from Liverpool), have already bought two (not too cheap) items from Dolphin per prepayment/banktransfer and I was left satisfied and happy with all. Everything worked well, the items arrived in best conditions and are working perfectly. Concerning the 2nd item I bought, the Digidesign Digi 002 Rack, I have to say, that before getting involved with Digidesign/Pro Tools I had been a user of Steinberg Products for more than 8 years. Had started with several versions of Cubase and ended up using the latest version of Nuendo. For 1 year in between I also had been using Logic. So I can say Im a kind of experienced working with those products. I always had been satisfied with Steinberg and Logic (been using their software samplers Halion and EXS24 a lot) and I also had been of critical mind about people saying that Digidesign/Pro Tools would be the one and only professionals choice. At the beginning of this year I decided to make a change in my recording environment and the only logical step forward could be trying to get involved with Digidesign at that time. And so here comes the conclusion and my personal final review: Digidesign/Pro Tools are definitely NOT the one and only (especially as an artist, not an engineer, I do ALSO recommend Steinberg/RME, Logic and Co, thats great stuff!) BUT Digidesign/Pro Tools are (for me personally) simply THE BEST! The Digi 002 was perfectly working from the very first start, there were no troubles on installing the whole software-thing including the plugins and it sounds really AMAZING! Ive always been monitoring on Yamaha NS 10, its a reference sound. You have to take a little time for learning Pro Tools (if youve never been working on it before) but its not that difficult I heard some people say and, more important, its that worth! So finally let me say: lots of respect to all the other manufacturers and thanks for their creative input and products but for me personally Digidesign/Pro Tools have also become the leading guys! I HIGHLY recommend the Digidesign Digi 002 Rack! Stay tuned.

What can you say about this piece of Hardware and Software, it totally blows everything out of the water, so forget your Hard disk recorders and other software companies, you want the best in Audio manipulation then Pro-tools is the way forward for 21st century composition. The M-Box it's self, is light portable brilliant for on the road use or for the home studio with little space. Just because it's small doesn't mean you are compensating on quality becasue you don't. Digidesign have done a great job in reaching across the different needs of muscians and the same attention to detail at the HD side is the same at the M-box. What I like about Didgidesign is they have given you a box that you can put a mic into but also you have MIDI in & out options and the great thing is they WORK!!!! Software - When I first got my Pro-Tools setup I was worried that I wasn't going to be a long time before I could get into the program its self, in honesty its easy. They have done the ground work on the programming so you don't have those endless nights working through problems, again it WORKS!!! Lets talk about the bundled software - overwhelming (in a good way) you get Reason Adapted, BFD lite, Albeton, Plugins galore and the best thing for me, no silly manual that doesn't make sense but a DVD of Pro-Tools method 1. It doesn't just stop there if you wish to advance your Pro-Tool skills then do the course authored through Berklee. In short, it's not just a box you buy but a total package with one aim in mind - to CREATE...

I bought the Digi002 at the recommendtaion of a friend who had invested a great deal of time into finding the componants for his home studio. He did in fact previously own a recording studio in Bristol England and had spoken with various contacts before purchasing the unit. I spent a little time at his home recording studio familiarising myself with the Digi and was so impressed that I decided to buy one myself. The Digi002 is now the centre piece of my home studio. At present I have 4 different guitars (Fender Stratocaster, Ibanez Jem7D, Line 6 Variax Acoustic, Yamaha Bass) a Microphone (MXL V69) and a midi keyboard (Korg Kontrol 49) connected to my Digi and I use all of them regularly. I have been using the Digi002 for some months now, becoming more familiar with the hardware and the flexibility of the software. The unit arrived with pro-tools le, reason, cubase and other software besides however I find reason and pro-tools provide me with all the tools I need. All of the buttons on the digi are large and clearly labeled, I had no difficulty in getting used to the controls and setting the intY up. I will admit that at first I had a hard time getting the Digi installed, this was due to my computer at the time and not the Digi. It was at this point that I needed to contact the digi technical support team by email, who helped to quickly solve my queries. A couple of times since I have had additional queries but in those cases I visited their website where they have a database of problems they have encountered and the solutions they found. I am slightly heavy handed with my Digi002, often recording the same guitarpart a few times over to get it sounding just right. Thankfully I haven\'t had any problems in terms of wear and tear. The sliders are still extremely accurate and the buttons continue to respond well, I suspect that they will continue to do so for some time. This was my first attempt at setting up a recording studio and so I spent a good deal of time searching around for the right componants and speaking with people both in and around the industry. Of all my purchases I would say that without doubt the Digi002 was the right choice (shortly followed by my MXL V69 which I love to bits). When I bought the Digi it cost me a good deal of money (1600 when I purchased it) and on my salary that was alot, but as I say I thought about it for a long time and the Digi002, the mixer, is essentially the heart of the recording setup and should be given a great deal of care and attention. Please spend a good deal of time reading reviews and looking around before buying your mixer, as it is an important part of your setup. I personally am extremely happy with my Digi002 and wouldn\'t think twice to replace it if stolen.

The Command8 is an extremely well built and well laid out product. At work I extensively use DigidesignEURs Control 24 which is in reality this desks big brother. I wanted a control desk for my Pro Tools studio at home as I increasingly take more & more mixing work home with me, and this seemed ideal. I was extremely pleased with how the functions translate between the two desk and any functions that you learn on the Command8 work seamlessly on the Control 24. In the 3 months I have been using this unit I have learnt many, many new things that I can also use in the main studio on the Control 24 simply because I have time to experiment & play at home that is simply not there when you are recording an album for a band and every second is being billed to the band in expensive EURstudio time. The faders are all precise and have a great feel & all buttons have a good positive contact, plus the motorised faders are relatively quite for this kind of desk. Setting up within Pro Tools was very straight forward and I was up and running within 3 minEURs. However this desk was designed solely for use with Pro Tools and as such work wonderfully, but it would be a mistake to recommend it for other software packages such as Sonar, Cubase or Logic. In all honesty though if you have a Pro Tools system, and you are an experienced Pro Tools user itEURs extremely unlikely that you would be using on of the competition to track your music as lets face it Pro Tools is in 95% of the worldEURs professional studios for a very good reason. One of the nice things about this desk that is an overwhelming advantage over the EURM-Audio ProjectMix I/OEUR for example (other than overall quality) is its real compatibility with Pro Tools HD, if you are a LE user there is always a chance you could upgrade in the future and the Command8 is a dedicated perfect partner to HD. Weak points:- The lack of a jog wheel is a little frustrating but can be easily remedied with the Contour Shuttle Pro & this also gives you some useful custom editing keys. Nothing else comes to mind with three months of hard useEUR I would say buy without hesitationEUR

Wow! I am so excited about using this rack. I had to make the move to this just about affordable sound device. It was well worth it. Along with the Pro Tools it is bundled with this unit is pure class. I'm in love with it truly. I upgraded from a creative soundcard which, you may laugh, has now been completely kicked out of the water. With a high spec PC you can do whatever you have ever imagined and more. you MUST buy this product if its the only thing you do...Buy it, Love it!
