Although I have given these headphones 5 stars, this can be explained better by giving 2 different ratings, Sound Quality - 8/10, Build Quality - 2/10. These headphones sound pretty good. They have a good frequency response and stick to your head like glue, providing good insulation from exterior noise. The bad side however is the build quality. While they seem solid as a rock when you first wear them, mine lasted about 4 months before the pillars connecting headphone to headband began to crack. After about 6 months the cracks had become so bad the headphones were unusable. Not what I was expecting for 100 English pounds. In terms of usage they were never gigged, and treated with the utmost respect when using at home.

No-one can compete with Technics for the top-spot. This MK5 version of the legendary Technics SL-1200 turntable was released in response to DJs wanting a stronger, more powerful platter. Technics SL1200 always have been and always will be the industry standard turntable.

These headphones are really great. My pair are just dying after several years of very heavy use and some serious mis-use (dropping, beer soaking, cramming into hand luggage, etc). I am always stunned when I plug in after another DJ and hear how bloody loud they have to have it to hear anything through their phones. It must save my hearing a whole heap of abuse not having to have the volume up so high. This is why I give them an 8, but for a 10 I need replacable parts. The covering on the ears wore off about a year ago leaving very attractive black flecks on my ears each morning. I tried to buy new components but was told they are not sold as parts only as whole new pairs. Not what I expect in a high end piece of kit like this. Otherwise, great.

Put your hands together for Technics. These decks are nothing but CLASS!! Wicked layout, wicked look and the torque of the town. I had a whirl of these babies about a week ago and i'm taking out a loan to get me some. No accidentally switching these off after a few bevies thanks to the recessed on/off switch and no fart assing around the 0% pitch. This is the Rolls Royce of turntables with no bullshit that go with many other brands ie. reverse, sampling, digital displays etc. The original and still the best. Enough said.
