When I decided to make the step up from record turntables to CD turntables it wasn't too easy a task. I knew the market leaders were of course the Pioneer CDJ-1000 Mk3's. But at 800 each id be saving for quite a long time!. When I started looking at it's little brothers I stumbled upon these. They were only new when I saw them but damn they looked good. and they were half the price! only 400 each! I decided to order them as soon as I had the money. Once I opened the boxes and set the beauties up I was amazed. There's no CD tray. It just takes the CD in and out like in a movie. The jog wheel moves so freely like it's on runners. One of the big helps over turntables is the pitch control and how precise it is. OK that's to do with it having a microprocessor in it but it's so accurate. You can even adjust it to +100% or -100%. And the LCD screen tells you the BPM better than any mixer BPM counter can. So all you have to do is match the BPM's for each player and fade over. If you still miss your turntables, you can use the CDJ-400 like a record player with the push of a button. then you just move the jog wheel round as if it where a record! On top of this there are integrated effects which you can control with the jog wheel as well just like an effects module. Another of my favourites is the loop...system. Basically you get the track where you want it, press the first yellow button to start the loop then play the track and press the second yellow button to end the loop and it will just keep looping until you press exit! It's so simple yet advanced. One final thing is that you can even have your own light show (well not literally). You can control the red ring of LED's around the jog wheel as I'm sure you can see in the picture. You can have it so it pulses, so it follows your hand and so it's like a Mexican wave! Because I'm running out of space this will be my last comment on this truly amazing product. It has MIDI compatibility so you can connect it to a computer and use it with almost any DJ software. One of Pioneers best creations yet. It ranks right up there with Technics 1200's which will soon be obsolete due to these babies!

Exceptional mixer! Sound quality way above others in that range - Use the digital inputs on the back, and you'll hear nothing other like it. Vast improvement over the DJM-600. Only issues i've had is snapper upfaders.. They seem to wear out on the stems. Easily replaced.

This little box packs a lot of effects processing power, for Dj'ing, mixing, or even vocals and prodcution. The Isolator is great for totally removing Bass, Mid, or Treble, and unlike your EQ on your mixer, this thing removes just the right frequencies. Hands down the best sound effects processor for the money and well worth the $100 price difference of less expensive effects processors. You got Delay, Echo, and Transformer, and a jog wheel for Jet effect or Zap for taking a vocal into the depths of deep and making a Danny Tenaglia type dark godly vocal. And there are many more effects and combinations of effects that can really transform a DJ set into a work of art... Use it as a secret weapon and make your own live remixes right on stage while everyone watches you destroy the dancefloor. The only reason I give this an 8 is because the EFX1000 (The more expensive one) is a 10... What can I say... GO GET ONE!!!

This little unit has been with me for the past 3 years. I have never had a single problem and it has never let me down. The DJM300 has everything you need for a working DJ and is not cluttered with gadgets or gimmicks that you never get chance to use. For beat mixers: the Beat displays are clear and very accurate - I have found it is better to select the average BPM position as it gives a more constant readout (as the other setting is so accurate it tends to change a lot) The cue function buttons are simple to use and all the knobs & swithes are responsive and have a quality feel. Even though I have used this mixer for 3 years for 3-4 nights a week I haven't even had to change the crossfader! Something I cannot say about some of the other mixers I have had in the past. The output signal is lovely and clear and you can get a good sound with the 3 EQ knobs which all go low enough to act as kills. The headphone output can be cranked up really loud and I have allways had enough volume available to monitor & cue - even in the loudest clubs. To conclude: If you want a quality mixer for a reasonable price with all the tools you need in one compact package then this is the mixer for you. It should last for years and be very low maintanance. It has been the best couple of hundred quid I have ever spent!

For reading magazines and going to clubs,you will see that there is no doubt why this product is the DJ's industry standard! taking this to a personal level, the 100% pitch range with master tempo is a big hit with me as you can get key-on mixing going with out the "horse-galloping" effect, after about 5% however this does begin to slip, but if you use this as an effect, you can achieve lets say for example (beat-less) vocals at half the speed which help end or even begin a DJ set. Another striking feature for me is the jog-dial, it gives you so much control over your music. an effect i like to do is to make sure I'm mixing at 134 bpm and set the "jog-dial tension" to the gray area, and on the last four beats of a tune, spin the dial in reverse as fast as you can, and when it stops spinning the 4 beats will pass and you can introduce the next tune with easy no mixing. The last feature I'm am excited of is the MP3 compatibility, with myself as an entirely digital DJ you have no space for vinyl, so, by burning all you MP3s to CD i could fit my entire play list on ONE cd. By the way, just to tell you, even though this is an expensive product, I've got one and I'm only 16. and the good thing about is anyone can use it, even vinyl-huggin' pensioners. The one disadvantage of the product is the fact that it gathers dust, fast. so use it all the time, like i do. Thanx Elnyri

The CDJ1000 MK3 is the industry standard CD turntable, without question. New models from Denon and Technics are closing that gap, but theyEURre yet to seriously challenge the CDJ1000EURs crown. However, this quality comes at a price, at 750 a pop, theyEURre not cheap. What we need is a slimmed down version that retains the CDJ1000EURs key features (Vinyl Emulation, MP3 Playback, rock solid dependency) yet at a more affordable price. Enter the CDJ800 MK2 the reigning champs little brother. Built around Pioneers instantly recognisable, adjustable jog wheel technology, the CDJ800 takes the best bits from the Pioneer CD Player range and adds a few new ones (CD Text, Folder Search, Quick Resume Play, thereEURs even a short looping function). The display is bright and informative and the buttons are clearly laid out, even a complete novice can get to grips with itEURs controls in just a few hours. If I had to grumble it would be over the lack of Wave display, allowing you to see exactly when that breakdown will arrive. I think that if Pioneer had added this feature then there really wouldnEURt be much reason to pay the extra 200 for the CDJ1000s. Other players, such as those from Denon do come loaded with more gadgets but do you really, really need SD memory cards and gold connectors? Unless your names Sasha or Digweed chances are you probably donEURt. With the CDJ800 MK2 Pioneer have filled the gap in the market for a quality player at an affordable price. Buy a pair today and you wonEURt regret it, not even for a second.

This is without a doubt the best CDJ on the market, I was really against cd mixing, and have always been a vinyl lover, that was until I got my hands on a CDJ 1000mk2! These babys can do everything a turntable can and then some, they feel almost exactly the same to mix on and I recommend them to anyone looking to get into CD mixng but keep the feel or a turntable!
