Although a booming amplifier business today, manufacturing amplifiers was not always the main priority on the Orange company’s to-do list. Established in the 1960s, by a gentleman called Cliff Cooper (aka Mr. Orange) the brand was originally a musical instrument store and recording studio. The unpopularity of the studio forced Mr. Orange to explore his options, leading to his desire to attempt the retailing business. As it turned out, many of the large manufacturers refused to supply the company with their equipment and so Mr. Orange began manufacturing his own products, and as a result… Orange amplifiers were born.
From the production of the OD 120 model in the mid-70s to the company’s most recent creation, the Dark Terror compact amp head, Orange’s uninhibited passion for individuality is what has given it the high status it holds at present.

Coheed and Cambria are a Rock band formed in 1995 in Nyack, New York. The band’s ‘sound’ is a rather distinctive concoction with elements of progressive and alternative rock, new prog, metal and post-hardcore. Coheed is known to use a selection of equipment from Orange including amp heads like the Orange OR50 Anniversary Series, the 74 GRO100 with a black covering and the Orange 4x12 cab.
Coheed consists of lead singer and guitarist Claudio Sanchez, lead/rhythm guitarist Travis Stever and drummer Chris Pennie. With some additions and subtractions of members over the years, the band has released five studio albums, four live albums and four EPs, the latest of which, Year of the Black Rainbow reached number 2 on the US Rock Charts in 2010.

The masked musician has, over the last few years, began releasing signature gear. Stratocasters, Tele's and most recently the new #4 Orange amp head and cab.
