The Charvel guitars brand was founded in the 1970s by Wayne Charvel in California. Charvel opened a guitar repair shop in ’74 where he popularised custom revamps of the Fender Strat design. Renowned for its use of creative graphics and other innovative features, the name became popular in the 80s with axe men from bands like Twisted Sister, KISS and Bon Jovi.
The company was acquired by Fender in 2002, heralding a renaissance for Charvel guitars, bringing them under the same Fender banner as signature guitars of some of their most famed players like Randy Rhoads and Eddie Van Halen.
With several guitars being manufactured in the US, Charvel has recaptured its original essence of providing high-quality American made professional guitars.
Van Halen is an American hard rock/metal band from in Pasadena, California who formed in 1972. The band achieved success after the release of its debut album Van Halen in 1978.
