Since its founding in 1999, Adam Professional Audio has grown to present many more innovations than anyone could have thought. Among their innovations, Adam introduced Impulse Coupling, they found a method to vastly improve the connection between drivers and cabinets.
Another, is Accelerating Ribbon Technology (ART), a superior tweeter design which served as landmark in loudspeaker technology. Celebrating their 10th anniversary, Adam released the new X-ART tweeter, featured in the brand new F-Series. Based on the ART technology, the new tweeters and midranges show an extended frequency band and a higher efficiency than their predecessors.
Abbey Road Studios use Adam's S3a 5.1 System for one of their studios. The acquisition was instigated by Peter Cobbin who is already acclaimed as one of the worlds leading authorities in 5.1.
ADAM went to Abbey Road to meet Peter and talk about how his new ADAM set up features in his working life.
"I had been looking for good small active monitors, particularly something that could sit comfortably on top of the console. I like the physical design of the S3a's in that they have a fairly low profile and sit horizontally on the console and don't take up too much space as I always use large monitors as well."

One of the more common concerns we hear is that because the bass in our systems is being reproduced by a mono subwoofer, the user fears that they may be able to perceive it as a separate, locatable source. This is actually not the case and in a correctly designed 2.1 system using proper bass-management it should not be an issue at all.
