The Guitar Shop Opens!
One shop, one party, a huge turnout and four bands playing amazing sets… Dolphin’s first venture into guitar and high street retail kicks off in style!
Dolphin Music have shaken off their ‘on-line and hi-tech only’
reputation with the audacious move of opening up a guitar shop in the heart of Liverpool’s musician quarter. The new shop opened under a stream of publicity last week with many representatives from the UK’s MI industry attending the store party and post party gig at the nearby Bar & Grill.
Dolphin are going to give guitar buyers in the North West a unique experience every time they visit their store with a huge stock of guitars on fast rotation so that a visit to the store is different every time. With the emphasis on entry-level models downstairs and boutique brands upstairs the store is already offering a much bigger scope in terms of brand coverage than many other guitar shops. Add to that the staff’s in depth guitar knowledge and ability to offer hi-tech recording solutions to their customers plus Dolphin’s ability to stock and restock at short notice from its warehouse just down the road and you end up with a unique store proposition, and one that is sure to be a huge hit in what is arguably the capital of guitar music!
The shop’s opening night party was a huge success as was the gig at Bar & Grill featuring Ian McNabb, 28 Costumes, Enjoy Destroy and Alfa 9.
“We were overwhelmed with the turnout for our Guitar Shop opening bash,” says Dolphin’s Director Jason Tavaria. “With over 300 people attending and some very encouraging feedback we couldn’t have hoped for a better evening. Our first day’s trading on Saturday was amazing and we had a huge turnout with competitions and promotions hosted all day long. We feel confident that we can increase the number of musicians shopping in Liverpool and try and bring music retail back to the level a prestigious city like this should be aiming to have. In fact the night was so successful that we may consider making it a more regular event!”
