Pro Tools HD v7.2 features new video editing, surround metering and automation modes while the version 7.1.1 update for Pro Tools LE and M-Powered means the software can run on Apple’s new Intel-based Macs.
What’s more, Digidesign have produced a surround panning control unit for Pro Tools HD and Icon D-Command systems. The neat desktop module is made by JL Cooper Electronics (www.jlcooper.com). It’s got a joystick and buttons for selecting parameters and will be available in late Summer. UK prices have not been announced yet but it will retail for $1695 in the US.
The update for Pro Tools LE and M-Powered — version 7.1.1 — is expected later this month and will be free to registered users of version 7. The Pro Tools HD v7.2 upgrade will be available later this year, costing $199 (UK price to be confirmed). Check Digidesign’s web site for more details.
