New Orange Valve Amps... And Bax Bangeetar Pedal!

Published: Wed April 15, 2015  News Feed
When Orange announced new amps at NAMM back in January, there was a bit of surprise: what, no valve amps? We love their solid-state range, the Crush Series, but Orange made their name with valve amps, used by many top bands since the sixties, from Fletweeod Mac, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin to Oasis and Arctic Monkeys. It seems Orange just saved the best for last, and their new products announced this week at Musikmesse: the Rockerverb MKIII amps... and a brand new FX pedal!

New Orange Rockerverb MKII amps and Booster pedal

The new Rockerverb MKIII Range comprises of three amps: the Rockerverb 100 MKIII Head, Rockerverb 50 MKIII Head, and Rockerverb 50 MKIII 212 Combo. These amps greatly improve the popular Rockerverb MKII range, and share in common the classic Orange tone, plus the versatility of twin-channels and tube-driven spring reverb.

But one of the best new features, a first for Rockerverb amps, is the switchable power outputs. The Rockerverb 100 MKII head can be switched down to 70, 50 or 30w, while the other two amps can be switched down to 25W. This instantly makes these amps even more usable in different situations - not just great gigging amps, but also for recording situations and smaller gigs.

The non-master volume Clean channel has been re-engineered to take on a more ‘sparkly’ and ‘crisp’ nature but with greater control through a revoiced two band EQ section. The MKIIIs have even greater headroom and volume in full power mode, should you need it, but this can now be manipulated with the amp’s output power and Attenuator controls.

ORANGE'S FIRST EVER FX PEDAL!

Orange Bax Bangeetar

Orange's first ever guitar fx pedal doesn't disappoint - the Bax Bangeetar is a Pre-EQ booster pedal with plenty of controls to help you shaping your sound, and comes in two different colours: black with orange knobs, or white. This pedal gives you a wide range of tones, from clean boost to that classic Orange crunchy overdive, and everything in-between. And more - it also features an extra CabSim output, which faithfully emulates the sound of a mic’d Orange 40th Anniversary PPC412 4×12 cabinet. This is very useful in many different situations: use this output to a recording console to capture huge Orange tones in the studio, or to a powered monitor or PA for a versatile live setup. Both the regular and CabSim outputs can be used independently or simultaneously.

If you already own an Orange amp, the Bax Bangeetar is a great complement. Or, if you want your valve amp to sound even better and more like an Orange amp, then this pedal is a great choice, too!
