NAMM 2015: Hot New Gear from Korg
Published: Thu January 22, 2015
NAMM 2015 started today, and one of the most exciting launches is the new ARP Odyssey, which Korg finally launched, almost one year since it was first announced, in February last year. But that's not all from Korg, and their other releases could also prove very popular in 2015...
Sure, everyone was expecting the new ARP Odyssey... what no-one expected was that we'd get three in one go! Korg surprised the consumers by releasing three versions of the synth, inspired by the MkI, MkII and MkIII models. The Korg ARP Odyssey (in Black & Orange) is based on the later model and is the one that most people will buy, as the other two versions, based on MkI and MkII, will be limited-editions: The Korg ARP Odyssey REV1 and Korg ARP Odyssey REV2. All three models are pictured below:

MS20 Mini ANALOG SYNTHESIZER KIT
The MS20 Mini was (and is) one of the most successful products to ride the analog revival wave, in the past two years. So Korg now gives us a rack version of the popular synth, which comes in a self-assembly kit and is keyboard-less. Perfect for those who always fancied a MS20 but found it too bulky. As a very nice extra, it also comes with a new SQ1 2x8 Step Sequencer, which is also available separetely. View MS20M KIT product page for more details.
KAOSS DJ CONTROLLER
The Kaoss DJ Controller is a very versatile audio interface that can also be used as a 2-channel mixer. It's a very convenient way for laptop DJs to access the powerful effects of a Kaoss PAD. Use sweeping filters to accentuate or create your own drop; use time-based delays to manipulate the beat; employ isolators to accentuate frequencies for mashups; put a huge reverb on that snare hit... the possibilities are endless! KAOSS DJ is extremely compact while maintaining all the functionality DJs command–and more!
The new Korg Kaossilator 2S looks set to be really popular - small and packed with great sounds, it's a great little handheld synthesizer (or Dynamic Phrase Synthesizer as Korg calls it). It's a great tool for music production on the go, thanks to its integration with Ableton Live. Its powerful sound engine gives you 150 different sounds - You can play melodies and phrases simply by stroking or tapping the touchpad with your fingertips. The horizontal axis controls pitch, and the vertical axis controls subtle changes in tone. It's easy to perform even if you can't play keyboard, and you're also free to perform unusual phrases that would be impractical to play on a keyboard.
