M-Audio Trigger Finger Pro Guide

M-Audio Trigger Finger Pro

Frankly it was already pretty outstanding value for money but the M-Audio Trigger Finger Pro just became ludicrously tasty for any beat makers or producers out there. Reminiscent of classic production stations like Akai's MPC range but with a cutting edge all of it's own. The TFP isn't tied down to any single software platform. Class compliance, HUI and Mackie integration means that it's easy to setup as well, no messing around with proprietary protocols or loads of driver installs. So that's all good news if you're planning on using the Trigger Finger Pro to control your existing plugins and integrate nicely with your DAW, there's a load of templates you can download from M-Audio to make things even easier.

Things get really interesting where the Pro breaks from it's traditional MIDI controller roots and becomes much more of a full fledged production center and it's all thanks to the Arsenal. Capable of running as a standalone piece of software or in VST mode this collection of plugins and samples is ready play out the box with your TFP.

  • Missing the immediacy of classic drum machine workflow? Get playing with the 64 track step sequencer.
  • Want touch senstiive pads? They're right there, all sixteen of them with pressure sensitivity and aftertouch. Plus there's everyone's favourite Roll feature (similar to Note Repeat on the MPC).
  • Don't fancy glaring at your computer screen? No worries you've got transport control, faders, an LCD screen and rotary encoders to ensure you stay focused on the things that really matter. Control and creativity are everything with the Trigger Finger Pro.
  • Need some "record ready" inspiration? M-Audio have teamed up with Prime Loops and Toolroom Records to deliver gigabytes of loops, hits, pads, stabs and more.

No need to just take our word for it either, Keyboard Magazine said in their review:

"Whipping up grooves is a totally productive undertaking."

And then they gave it a big thumbs up, slapping their Keybuy award on it too.
