A host of musicians and artists agreed to design custom Carparelli guitars that will be put up for auction at Bonhams in New York on 11th November, in aid of the War Child charity, which has been helping kids in war-torn countries since 1993.  Among the names who enrolled for this project are: Muse's MattBellamy, Dave Stewart, Robby Krieger from The Doors, Iggy Pop, Michael Stipe and film directors Gus Van Sant and Sam Taylor-Wood. Other artists who created their own axes include musicians (former Cure guitarist Pearl Thompson, J-pop singer Aiko), comic book artists (Steve McNiven) and other artists from across the visual spectrum (Slater Bradley, Shepard Fairey, Sterling Ruby, Michael Adamson, Zevs, Ginger Gilmour). Proceeds from these unique items will benefit War Child USA, a humanitarian organization focused on helping children and young people in areas of armed conflict.

In 1995 Paul McCartney, Oasis, Blur, Radiohead and the cream of British music recorded and released the iconic ‘Help’ album in just three days. Twenty years later, it is still the ‘charity’ album that all others are compared to. Since then, they have done many projects with the help of musicians. For more info, check the War Child website.

Dr. Samantha Nutt, founder of War Child USA, tells Rolling Stone. "War Child has always looked to artists to help us give voice to the millions of children marginalized by conflict. This Bonhams guitar auction is the latest outstanding example of the remarkable support we have received over the years.

According to new information Mike Carparelli of Carparelli guitars provided to Dolphin Music, these new custom guitars First Exhibit will take place October 25th in Toronto. The next Exhibit after that will be in LA then the final one and auction will be in New York on November 11th.
