What British festival are you?

The Great British festival season is upon us, and with over 500 to choose from in the UK how are you ever going to decide which one to go to? Lucky for you we have devised a plan to help you solve your first-world issue through calculated guesswork and glorious headliner knowledge.

Green Man
Date: 14-17 August

The Green Man takes place in the lush Welsh wilderness of Glanusk, where locally-sourced food is celebrated just as much as the music acts.

Headlining at Green Man this year is Neutral Milk Hotel, who have come back onto the scene after disappearing for sixteen years. With impassioned lyrics and an Americana indie-folk sound (that’s not of the Mumford and Sons kind) they tie-in perfectly with the festival’s nature-loving theme, along with the rarely-seen Beirut, Sharon Van Etten and Angel Olsen.

If you like organically-grown leeks, wear vegan-approved hemp t-shirts and can be often found playing an old banjo or some form of world percussion instrument, this is definitely the festival for you.

From club to field, Creamfields has been providing the UK with a bank holiday dance festival since 1998 and has included some of the best DJs to grace this earth in its bill.

Some top acts this year include Sub Focus, DeadMau5 and Calvin Harris, so you’re bound to be bouncing round wide-eyed at this year’s festival.

So if sleep is the last thing on your buzzing mind and your idea of a synth-fused heaven is dancing through the night to some heavy beats then this is the festival for you.

Back in 1970 Glastonbury used to bring in 12,000 people in and feature the likes of David Bowie and Van Morrison.

Glastonbury now draws a crowd of over a hundred-thousand to come and watch its acts in the quaint village of Pilton, and this year the UK’s biggest festival will be returning to its guitar-roots with the likes of Metallica, Arcade Fire and Kasabian parading around the Pyramid Stage.

Nowadays Glastonbury is seen as the Number One British festival, and if you haven’t been lucky enough to get a ticket (or afford the £200+ price tag) stop talking to everyone you know and just stick to your giant headphones and checked shirts this summer.
