Jimi Hendrix and the Univibe

When you think of Woodstock you probably think of the summer love, the music, but if you ask anyone about the musicians who played chances are they will mention Jimi Hendrix first.

Why?

Well, Jimi’s two hour set on that Sunday in 1969 was comprised of some real defining and memorable rock music, this was then reinforced with the release of Jimi’s live at Woodstock album and massively psychedelic version of the Star Spangled Banner/Purple Haze melody which was captured on film forever.

)

Hear that sound, that weird trippy sort of phasey thing?

Well, that’s a univibe pedal, this comprises of a chorus and tremolo working together to create that famous psychedelic effect of fading  the sound in and out.
Now for 2014, Korg have worked with the original designer of this FX pedal to come up with a version that will not only keep the fans of the classic happy but also brings the pedal up to date and ready for the modern musician.
