Want to know  what's going on at Musikmesse 2014 this year? Well, you've come to the right place.

Spring has almost sprung and the birds are tweeting, sun is shining and the gear is landing in Frankfurt. Here's our roundup of what's going down on the show floor.

There's lots of excitng new guitar effects coming out of the Boss stable lately, the GT-100 just saw a major update which included guitar to MIDI functionality as well as new sounds. That's cool but we suspect the Guitar MIDI feature was intended to find it's natural home in the recently announced GT-001 Effects Processor. Combining all the effects from the GT-100 with a high quality interface for recording, compatible with any major DAW, it's a piece of studio gear that's designed with guitarists in mind. No need for fiddling around on keyboards or editing, write MIDI parts with the instrument you love to play most.

The early rumblings of excitement were all about the return of a vinyl turntable from Pioneer. Rumours that a spiritual successor to the Technics 1210 decks are on their way. Once considered the best vinyl turntables money can buy, the 1210 was discontinued in 2010. We've not got much info at the moment but we'll be updating this article as soon as we find out anything new.

The original Ableton APC MIDI controllers are making a comeback. With 5 years of feedback taken on board and experience collaborating with Ableton on the Push they look the bees knees. The APC40 MkII lets you control, launch clips and crossfade in the mix and on the fly.

It's not all button bashing, DAW integration and bright lit pads. Well actually, the last one is still available on the vintage-futuro beast Rhythm Wolf. Half synth, half drum machine and all analogue it's got MPC pads for banging rhythms, step sequencing, MIDI, independent audio outs and CV gate to boot. We know analogue/MIDI/digital hybrid setups are getting popular and this will slot right in.

Dynaudio Monitors

Dynaudio have released the latest in the BM range of speakers and they're looking rather tasty, so much so we wrote an article about 'em.

Being massive pedal geeks we were rather excited to see the reintroduction of a vintage classic from Korg. The Nuvibe delivers that same mad, swooshy beauty that Gimour loved so dearly and made Bridge Of Sighs such an awesome tune (good songwriting didn't hurt either).
