In The Studio With Young Guns
Whether recording at home or in the studio a high quality setup is essential for capturing high quality audio.
After gaining success with their first two albums, five piece British rock act Young Guns are currently in their home studio recording and demoing their third release.
In 2012, Young guns played their biggest show to date, a sell out date at London's Kentish town forum. This was off the back of their second album 'Bones' which went on to win the band a number of accolades and appearances at many major festivals. Fans of melodious rock quickly adopted 'Bones' as one of the rock albums of the year and the groups anthemic performances became the highlight for many at last years summer festivals.
The group whose success has continually escalated since 2009, approached their third album with a good knowledge of recording however; for their third release they wanted more creative control in terms of production.
“The idea was to allow us to put down solid demos in our own time” says guitarist John Taylor. He continues, “We wanted to be able to multi-track record live performances as a whole band as well as track great sounding drums, guitars, synths and vocals for demos.”
In the video above, the band shows us around their home studio in Malvern and explains how Focusrite’s Firewire/Thunderbolt* Saffire Pro 40 audio interface and OctoPre MkII Dynamic preamps/compressors are being used to enhance studio setup.
Below is the official video for ''You Are Not (Lonely)' taken from 'Bones' released on Wind-up Records on September 4, 2012.
