Electro Harmonix Pedals Get Brassy

Electro Harmonix HOG 2

We've previously looked at how Electro Harmonix can be used for a wide array of different musical purposes.

Korg CM-200
Korg CM-200
Designed to be used with a tuner but the CM-200 will deliver more than enough instrument tone to play around with.
This is new even to us though, using Electro Harmonix pedals on brass, saxophone, trumpet, trombone!

It makes a lot of sense when you think about it, brass is a relatively harmonically pure sound that translates nicely into many different effects. Plus that long sustain allows for the player to noodle around with all kinds of harmonic and rhythmic effects while holding the note.

If you fancy giving it a go yourself then a quality clip on mic would be your best bet. We understand that most brass players might not make this an integral part of their setup so splashing £100+ on a mic may not be realistic.

In that case a cheap alternative would be a handy piezo mic, like the Korg CM200 (it even has a jack output). While you might not want to rely on it for stage sound at gigs the piezo will deliver enough of the sound of your instrument for hours of fun playing at home.

So go get that old delay pedal out the cupboard and have a ball!
