Going Supernova With A Free Soundpack

Supernova Soundpack
The Supernova SoundPack is the first of two coming out this year, giving Mininova & Ultranova users an expanded palette of awesome sounds. To give you a little taste here's a demo of the patches, containing everything from growling basslines to fat string sounds.

Indeed Novation release all their SoundPacks for free, so you never need be short of inspirational tones and the iconic sounds of the 90's and new millienium.

Novation Mininova
Turn this £300 mini monster into a classic synth, that cost over £1000 on release!
Novation Ultranova
Already a great synth with a huge range of sounds the Ultra gets even more so with the Supernova SoundPack.

The Novation Supernova is a legend in the world of synthesisers, with tons of different sounds lurking behind it's lovely blue front panel. The Mininova and Ultranova built on the legacy of this titan, using improved digital technology to expand tonal options and take sound quality even further. So it is that Novation have made the classic sounds of the Supernova available on it's younger brethren to celebrate 21 years of pads, leads, sweeps and sub.

That's two generations of musicians inspired by the sounds of Novation synths and going back to the beginning none other than Orbital who have used a huge range of Novation gear, live and on record.

Orbital And Novation

“...we have always used Novation gear on the road: from the original BassStation to the DrumStation – still our back up in-case the TR-909 or 808 go down – to the SuperNova which was one of our main live synths for many years.” - Paul Hartnoll

Here's a little slice of classic Orbital, playing live with a synth filter that sounds pretty Supernova to us. Of course you will shortly be able to get your hands on a reissue of the BassStation for some sweet analogue tones too.

More recently we've heard Alt-J espousing the virtues of the Ultranova, filling in on that vital low end. Here they are playing live.
