At The Grammys 2013

Once more the music world has convened at the Staples Center in LA, dressed up and giving awards for all that was great and good in the past year. Now many people's eyes may have been on the show-stopping frocks worn by Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé but we were more interested in who was wearing Gibson on stage than Givenchy on the red carpet.

Elton And Ed

First up we've got a little bit of a Brit combo for you with Ed Sheeran dueting with Elton John on a big ballady number. This wasn't Elton's only performance of the night, teaming up with Mumford & Sons later in the evening (have a look below). We've covered Ed's gear in some depth previously and of course he was seen with his Martin LX1E guitar and Elton used a Yamaha stage piano.

Jack White

Not a winner this time around but Jack White still stood out with his usual individual style and flair. With some custom tailoring, custom amps and a custom Telecaster Jack was colour co-ordinated and with a mighty fine tone. Check out our guide to make some of that famous sound your own.

Bruno Mars - With Sting And Rihanna In Tribute To Bob Marley

Bruno only had one nomination this year, collaborating on a track with Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa but on this tribute to Bob Marley he lead the all star cast. We spotted him using a Gretsch Duo Jet guitar and there appeared to be a Mesa Boogie Royal Atlantic on stage, we've got the Transatlantic for some of that sweet, singing Boogie tone.

Waiting back stage before making a dramatic entrance was Sting wielding his famous 50's Fender Precision bass, which made it two of that famous instrument by our count (check out the fella with the red P-Bass on the right). It could only be Ampeg bringing the amplication, looks a bit like a 6x10 cab and a black face SVT head to us.

As for Bob Marley's gear legacy, his Les Paul had previously been loaned to the Grammy Museum in 2011 and one of Bob's Washburn guitars sold for $1.2 million in a charity auction, making it one of the most expensive guitars in history.

Elton (again), Mumford And Mavis

Another tribute to a departed great, Levon Helm of The Band. Marcus Mumford's guitar is a Martin naturally, he's rarely seen playing anything else and given their great sound and feel why would he? On bass we spy a meaty bridge and Fender headstock, so it looks like a Jazz Bass being played. There's no mistaking that distinctive red keyboard which must be a Nord, likely a Stage 2 model.
