Big British Tone With Hayden And Ashdown At NAMM 2013

Hayden Amplifiers - Get Some Crunch From The Mofo

Hayden have expanded and upgraded their marvelous Mofo range with two new amplifier heads and three new combos. Representing Hayden's first foray into lunchbox amps and small, low watt combos there is a surprising amount of versatility in such a dinky package. With half a dozen knobs on even the smallest 'Lil Mofo' it's safe to say you can dial in a range of sounds, whether grinding gain or sweet cleans are your thing. Also having looked at what makes their amps so popular (with artists such as Eagles Of Death Metal and Biffy Clyro) improvements have been made to the Classic Lead 80 and Mofo 30 Watt head. There are some lovely new looks to match the internal tinkering, a redesigned logo and very natty 'magic eye' preamp tube glaring out on stage.

Ashdown Engineering - Unplugged, Low Down And Lightweight

When it comes to acoustic guitar amplifiers there isn't a huge range available, Ashdown have a superb offering with their acoustic amplifier range. Acoustic guitars are a great deal more complex than electrics when it comes to amplification, careful consideration needs to be taken regarding fidelity, feedback and extended frequency range. With years of experience dealing the specialist requirements of bass players Ashdown have really covered every detail with best in class acoustic amp combos or superb entry level Preamp/Monitor combos. In fact with their beatiful Latvian Birch enclosure they might just make a few electric players jealous.

Of course bassists are far from forgotten with lightweight ABM Neo series giving ABM preamp tone in a more compact format. The Mibass Amp Head goes even further, providing 640 watts of grunt in a super compact enclosure.

Dr. Green Pedals

It's been a while since Britiain had a significant boutique pedal brand, with a rich effects heritage from Roger Mayer's Octavia (used by Hendrix) through the Vox/Coloursound Tonebender (Jimmy Page) and more recently the awesome Lovetone pedals (Bootsy Collins, Jonny Greenwood). That changes at NAMM 2013 however with the introduction of the Dr. Green effects range for guitar and bass. Having worked on amps for over 20 years in the Essex countryside Dr. Green has been developing these handmade pedals with Hayden and Ashdown for months, now they're ready to be seen by the world giving a bucket of British tone with a slice of British humour.
