If you haven't got involved in Shure and Snow Patrol's remix competition yet, there's still time...so take some inspiration from the sort of gear the band themselves use and get going!
Snow Patrol and Shure have a long history together: the band’s live mics and studio mics have always included a whole range of Shure gear, while their gigs make use of equipment like Shure’s wireless systems.
Other key gear used by the band includes:
Paul Wilson (bass)
Gary Lightbody (lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist)
- A range of Fender Telecasters, Gretsch semi-hollow bodied guitars like the Chet Atkins Country Gentleman plus a Gibson SG and Gibson Les Paul.
- As for amps, Lightbody uses all the usual suspects like Marshall and Vox, but less common is his love of Mesa Boogie.
Nathan Connolly (backing vocalist and lead guitarist)
- Nathan's guitars of choice aren't anything particularly noteworthy - just the same classics as bandmate Gary - but his pedals are more interesting, including an Ibanez TS9 Tubescreamer, MXR M-133 Micro Amp Boost and plenty of classics from Boss.
