Cakewalk Extensions For Reason 6.5
Expanding Beyond Reason
Now you can use Extension devices from Propellerhead and other 3rd parties. Not simply a plugin, the Extensions integrate perfectly in Reason, load them in Combinators, automate and use them like any integrated Reason device.
RE-2A Leveling Amplifier
At the heart of this is the tube sound, the original unit being a simply tube amp with a photo-resistor adjusting the volume. This meant that very little circuitry was involved and a big, transparent sound was achieved, also the unit easily adjusts to the attack and release of the source. Just track in a vocal on your interface (such as the Propellerhead Balance Interface), adjust compression and let it go.
Of course if you want to get into more depth then Cakewalk have gone to great lengths to make the RE-2A flexible for any purpose.
-Zero latency for real time tracking and mixing
-Up to 40dB of smooth, transparent gain reduction
-Frequency dependent compression
-Program dependent attack/release
-Fully modeled "R37" HF Pre-emphasis control
-Dual photocell reset modes (Classic & Fast Reset)
-Use side-chain compression for ducking, de-essing, pumping, and more
-Modulate other effects using the Gain Reduction CV Output
