Electro-Harmonix Superego Synth Engine
Superego! The brand new synth engine from Electro-Harmonix has some great features that you would expect from these guitar pedal heroes. From its heavy metal chassis to trademark retro graphics, the Superego is pure Electro-Harmonix quality, exuding ‘coolness’ through and through.
One of the Superego’s most admirable attributes is that it allows you to layer multiple frozen notes. Unlike the original Freeze pedal, the Superego includes an all new Gliss Control, which performs like a portamento, so each note slides smoothly to the next. All the while, you have the ability to control the modulation time.
The Superego may very well take your guitar tone on journeys that you would never have thought possible. Premier Guitar got the chance to Take a peek at the Superego... check out their video here... it’s the only way you will understand the sounds that this pedal is capable of.
Electro-Harmonix Superego Key Features:
- Auto mode captures and freezes notes and chords you play
- Controllable Glissando
- Sustain notes and chords for as long as you like
- Insert effects into the wet signal with the effects flop
- Latch mode with a layer feature to stack sounds
Electro-Harmonix Crying Tone Wah Wah Pedal
The Electro-Harmonix Crying Tone Wah Wah Pedal is one of two new guitar FX pedals to come from Electro-Harmonix this month and is the flagship pedal of the Next Step range. Restoring the classic ‘Crying Tone’ name, this new wah wah pedal is unlike any ever made.
Most of you might be looking at this pedal and thinking, “Where’s the rest of it?” Well, frankly, there is no rest! The Electro-Harmonix Crying Tone has no moving parts, and so... there’s nothing that could be worn out with use.
The technology behind the Crying Tone is pretty much a mystery. Electro-Harmonix are a little, well, let’s say reluctant to share the ins and outs of the tech aspects with us.
But what we do know is that the pedal:
- Features no potentiometers
- Is not optical, but entirely electronic
- No moving parts
- No broken pots, footswitches of gears
- Super responsive and expressive
- Easy switching from bypass to effect
- Great wah wah tone
