The RP 301R is the perfect piano for beginners, piano students, families, or if you simply want to have fun playing the piano this is also a great option. Loaded with great features such as a SuperNATURAL sound engine, USB MIDI support, an Auto-off power function and a user-friendly LCD Display, the RP301R has something for every pianist. What's more, the RP301-R is an attractive, fun and affordable digital piano with no compromise on features or sound.
In this post, we explore some of our favourite features in the latest model to join the Roland digital-piano family.
10 Reasons to Go Digital (with the Roland RP301R)
1. No strings and things
What's the benefit of having a digital piano? Unlike an acoustic piano, a digital piano has no strings to worry about. That means you won't have to worry about tuning your piano, temperature changes or aging strings!
2. Digital can be environmentally friendly (honest!)
The RP-301R, like many of Roland's newest digital pianos, has an Auto-off feature. Forgotten to switch your piano off? Not to worry, with the auto-off feature you can determine when you would like the piano to turn off, after 15 minutes of not being used or 2 hours!
The RP301R's environment-conscious design has low power consumption without compromising its powerful sounds (12w under the condition of average use)
3. SuperNATURAL Piano Engine
The SuperNATURAL sound engine brings a new level of authentic sound and natural performance to the digital domain. Developed to give users a more realistic feel, experience and sound, the SuperNATURAL engine ensures a natural decay from key to key, just like you'd find in a very expensive Acoustic Grand Piano
4. 60 built-in rhythms (or 120 if you buy one soon)
Spanning 11 musical genres, the RP301R incorporates 60-built in rhythm accompaniments, which are designed to enrich your musical repertoire and enjoyment.
5. 120 isn't enough? Roland have covered that one too.
With the built-in USB port, you can stream music directly from a USB stick and play along with your favourite WAV audio and SMF song. If 60 built-in accompaniments isn't enough for you, that's fine!
6. Connect to your computer
The RP301R supports USB MIDI, meaning you can now connect to your computer and use the RP301R with music recording software.
7. Intelligent Full-Keyboard Chord Recognition
The full-keyboard chord-recognition engine in the RP301R reacts to the pressing level of the damper pedal. Any chord you play will be recognized, and in real time, allowing the auto accompaniment to follow what you play.
8. Twin Piano Feature
If you're looking to learn, the RP301R's “Twin Piano” feature is designed for side-by-side lessons - you can split the keyboard into two parts (each covers the same octaves) and the damper pedals are also assigned for either side of the keyboard.
9. Lovely to learn with
The LCD display on the RP301R helps you navigate through the three different playing modes: Pianist, Split Chord and Split Tone.
This is also the place to browse through the library, which includes a selection of classical piano etudes, or by song name, tone or rhythm accompaniment.
10. Play day, noon and night - silently or through speakers!
Through its built in speakers, you can play to an audience, or as part as a group ensemble. If you want some private time with the RP301R, the headphone socket allows you to have a silent practice. For play-along fun, the built-in external input lets you connect your audio player!
