Focusrite buys Novation

Published: Sat July 17, 2004  News Feed

Focusrite Audio Engineering Ltd is delighted to announce that it has acquired the business of Novation Electronic Music systems Ltd.

The two businesses are both located in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.  Focusrite have plans to rationalise some aspects of administration and manufacturing whilst maintaining Novation as a separate brand and retaining its own sales, product management and engineering personnel.

Novation Managing Director Ian Jannaway and Technical Director Chris Huggett are to be employed by Focusrite’s new Novation subsidiary to continue to lead the brand’s growth and development.

Phil Dudderidge, Chairman of Focusrite comments: We have admired the Novation brand for some time and had developed a rapport with Ian and Chris before, sadly, the company went into administration due to a shortage of working capital.  We are delighted to have the opportunity to give our backing to the brand and apply our skills to the opportunities open to Novation and Focusrite.

Ian Jannaway of Novation comments: Focusrite\'s acquisition has provided us with the structure and opportunity to bring to market an exciting range of new products. The X-Station and Remote range of keyboards have been well received and working with Focusrite’s talented team will allow us to extend the brand into other areas.
