Dolphin Kit Out Google's Funky Fourth Floor Music Room

When you picture an office do you think of endless rows of cubicles or a fourth floor filled with a gym, sci-fi themed break-out areas, a meeting room with a boat and a state-of-the-art sound proof music room? If you work at Google's luxury HQ, that's the kind of environment you'll be in each day after a small fortune has been spent giving the best engineers in the UK a highly creative and exciting environments. Here at Dolphin Music we were delighted when Google asked us to help kit out their music room with everything they needed for a perfect jamming session.
David Singleton, Google's UK head engineer says the music room is a place you can go and jam with your colleagues and another great way to take a break from hard work and use the time to come up with great, innovative ideas. Google's funky fourth floor was created by a group of engineers who gave ideas of how they would like to work.

Guitarists will be able to choose from a Fender Classic player Series Telecaster that includes features made out from Fender's Custom Shop craftmen's “Dream List” or a PRS SE Series electric guitar and create some great effects with the Line 6 POD HD500 Multi FX.
If you fancy playing some keys, you'll be able to play Nord's Electro 3 61-key digital piano which carries one of the world's most advanced organs and marries modern technology along with vintage tone. Without a doubt you'll see it all over the festival scene each summer, and you'll now find it in Google's Music Room along with a Dolphin branded music stand and piano bench.
Drummers will get to sit behind one of Yamaha's most prestigious electronic drum kits, the DTX700K. Featuring all DTX-PADs for snare, toms and floor tom, a real hi-hat controller and 3-zone cymbals, you can build your drumming skills the more you play. The DTX700 has a 64 MB Flash-ROM for loading your own samples and internal performance recorder and includes real Yamaha acoustic drum samples and 1,396 voices.
For recording, the guys at Google opted for the industry standard Rode NT1-A vocal and NT2-A Studio Solution pack allowing recordings of vocals, guitars,; along with Samson's pop shield and an Alesis Multimix 16 USB 2.0 Mixing desk. Mounted on a pair of Stagg stands you'll find a pair of Wharfedale's Titan 12 Active Speakers and a pair of Genelec 8020B monitors to sit on the workstation next to a 30” Mac Pro. And of course, the Mac wouldn't be complete without Native Instruments' Komplete 8 Software.
