~ The NEW Fender 50th Anniversary Jaguar ~

Today, Fender have unleashed the brand-new 50th Anniversary Jaguar, celebrating 5 colourful decades of Jaguar success. The original Jaguar was the 4th and final model in Fenders original line-up of electric guitars, along with the Telecaster, Stratocaster and Jazzmaster. And this U.S. built model will take you right back to the 60s.

Back in ‘62 when the Jag was first introduced, it wasn’t a secret that many thought the model was very unusual, pairing a sleek, Jazzmaster body and intricate control panel design with a shorter scale and ‘brighter’ pickups. Then from the ‘70s, the Jaguar seemed to settle into a new “click”, becoming somewhat of a subversively offbeat alternative instrument favoured by Punk, Grunge and Alternative Indie guitar heroes. The new Jaguar boasts some highly distinctive features, including the new 1 degree neck-angle-pocket cut, which helps to improve the instruments pitch. The Jag’s tremolo plate has also been re-positioned to increase the bridge break angle and the instruments ability to sustain notes. With specifically designed hot Jaguar single-coil neck and bridge pickups and “Claw” frames, the new Jag has the ability to deliver a much flatter tone with more output, and the notched metal claw frames assist in the reduction of ‘hum’ for a much crisper sound.

This guitar carries with it a vivid history, and this model simply evokes just that. Combining old and new concepts, features and designs into the Finest Jaguar yet, purely a chromed-out, surf-rock staple of the ‘60s. Available in 3 vintage Fender finishes, Lake Placid Blue, Candy Apple Red and Burgundy Mist Metallic, which evokes the original Jag's Burgundy Mist finish.
