Pre Order: Traktor Kontrol S2
Native Instruments performed a bit of a coup last year with their entrance into the all-in-one DJ controller/soundcard market. The S4 has been hugely successful and is still in high demand with more and more Traktor users and soon to be converts pledging allegiance to the innovative performance tool. Now, the respected DJ and computer music software developers are back with a new addition to their DJ range. Meet the Traktor Kontrol S2.
Check out this first look video featuring controller guru Ean Golden putting the S2 through its paces and demonstrating some of the amazing innovations including the 2.1 channel set up. Ean Skillfully creates a live dubstep remix of Depeche Mode's 'Enjoy the Silence' and demonstrates the unbelievable potential of teh Traktor Kontrol S2. eNJOY.
Like its predecessor, the Traktor Kontrol S2 combines an intuitive controller, purpose designed by the makers of Traktor, with a professional quality audio interface. The S2 features the same sleek aesthetically pleasing design but in a smaller, more mobile package making this an essential touring companion for performance DJs when space is a concern. The unit features a traditional layout with circular platters, up and cross faders, EQs and dedicated fx controls that relate visually to their onscreen counterparts.
Native Instruments have gone the whole hog with this new controller and inside every box is the full version of Traktor Pro 2, the latest incarnation of their industry leading software as used by scene veterans Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Rusko and Dubfire and many of the world’s hottest DJ acts. Traktor Pro 2 is at the very forefront of DJ technology and includes a host of transport, mixing tools, slicing and loop functionality and powerful cutting edge effects. The S2’s groundbreaking 2.1 channel design not only gives the user control of 2 decks but also puts them in control of Traktors new sample decks to help take those critical performances to the next level.
The Traktor Kontrol S2 is expected to ship in early October. If the S4’s success is anything to go by, stock will be limited in the run up to the festive season but you can pre-order now to avoid disappointment and ensure an allocation from the first UK shipment.
