In conjunction with James LoMenzo from the heavy metal rockers, Megadeth, Ashdown Engineering developed the LoMenzo Hyper Drive distortion pedal. How does the LoMenzo HyperDrive work? A band of frequencies within the midrange of the bass signal is filtered out and the distortion effect is added only to this band.

With now more than 30 years experience playing and recording with iconic musicians including Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society, David Lee Roth, Ozzy Osbourne, Slash's Snake Pit, White Lion and more recently Megadeth, LoMenzo envisioned a bass drive effect that operates entirely unlike any other distortion unit currently available.

The Pedal

The filtered frequencies of the LoMenzo bass distortion can be 'tuned' to the precise range, giving the optimum effect. The degree of distortion available is variable, from a subtle break up to huge overdrive which gives you the power to create a new range of extreme effects. Mix the distortion effect with the original dry bass signal and you'll maintain a powerfull, full-bodied bass tone with distortion overtones.
