NI compatibility with the new Intel Dual Core Engine imminent
Native Instruments products will soon be compatible with the latest generation of Apple™ Macintosh computers, which are now based on the Intel™ Dual Core Engine. Native Instruments is already working on enabling products for use with the new processor architecture of the Intel-based Mac systems.
The first compatible NI products are scheduled to be released in the 2nd quarter of 2006.
Compatibility of all new releases
All future product releases will include \"Universal\" versions that will take full advantage of the new Intel Mac platform while maintaining compatibility with PowerPC-based Macintosh computers.
Compatibility will come in the form of either a dedicated Intel-Mac update, that will be made available for a small fee, or as part of a major product update for all platforms.
There is not as yet any detailed release information available for those NI products not listed above. Information regarding these products will be released as soon as it becomes available.
Native Instruments does not recommend, or offer technical support for, using its products within the \"Rosetta\" environment on Intel-based Macintosh computers. (Please note that, according to Apple, Logic 7.1 does not run within the Rosetta environment either.)
New Native Instruments product releases and updates will continue to support PowerPC-based G4 and G5 Macintosh computers until further notice.
Users of third-party instruments based on KONTAKT, KOMPAKT or INTAKT technology should contact the respective manufacturers for information about support for Intel-based Macs.
No updates will be released for older or no longer available versions of NI products, such as ABSYNTH 1/2, REAKTOR 3/4, GUITAR RIG 1, REAKTOR SESSSION, B4 (Version 1), PRO-5/52, TRAKTOR DJ Studio 1/2.x.
