So You Want To Make Music? It's Never Been Easier...

From Heavy Metal to Tech House, It's Time To Get Creative
For many years the global stage has been dominated by auto-tuned Pop wannabes, larger than life rockers and classically trained muso’s, with labels shelling out thousands, sometimes millions for their artists to record in expensive facilities. For most of us, recording an album that could stand up to that kind of competition sonically has always seemed unlikely, but as Bob Dylan once sang... “The times they are a’ changing!”
In 2010 it’s never been easier to make and record your own music, whether you’re a hairbrush vocalist, fledgling pianist or an aging axe-man. Thanks to improvements in technology and the work of the fine men and women at companies like Steinberg, Avid, Propellerhead, Apple & Ableton it’s now possible to turn your computer or laptop into a high tech recording studio for less most peoples fortnightly food shopping bill.
Due to the quality of today’s emulations you can get the results once only possible from classic instruments and studio hardware for little or no cost. What’s even more exciting is that you can achieve all of this with little or no previous experience. In fact, you don’t even need to be able to play an instrument!
Over the coming weeks and months we’ll be giving hints and tips on how to go about making your own music with advice and tutorials from industry professionals and even some awesome prizes for the best reader made tracks.
