A Very Merry Killing In The Name Of.............

Published: Mon December 21, 2009  News Feed

It cost the bookies Millions, it P*ssed Simon Cowell off and your mum would DEFINITELY not approve.

3 reasons why Rage Against the Machine have made the Christmas number 1 spot cool again.

Anybody old enough to remember this filling alternative dance floors when it was first released a mere 17 years ago.....ouch!!. Rage against the machine's - "Killing In The Name Of" has aged remarkably well.

It also highlights how times have changed when even the BBC Radio 5 Live decide on a satellite link of Rage Against the Machine - performing the song live.

The Beeb had to apologise when frontman Zach De La Rocha sang "F**k you, I won't do what you tell me" four times at 9am in the morning. Guess you guy's should have at least heard the track first!!

I want to have been there when all eyes turned to the researcher for that one.

When Politicians and celebs became anti-Rage against the machine in the Race for the Xmas number one, you could almost hear the death knoll for poor Joe McElderry, ahhh Bless.

One thing is for sure, Tom Morello sounds as good today as he did then. He  has enjoyed continued success with Chris Cornell and Audioslave, He also performs as a solo acoustic artist under the pseudonym The Nightwatchman. He is acclaimed for his unique guitar style and is noted for his outspoken radical politics. Morello was ranked #26 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time

Check out some of the gear here on Tom Morello's artist page.
