Propellerhead Record - FAQ
Will I be able to open my Reason songs in Record?
Yes, you can open your Reason song files in Record. If you own both Reason and Record, you will have access to all Reason devices inside of Record's racks, as well as full compatibility with Reason song files, ReFills and patches.
What formats will be supported when importing audio?
Record can import uncompressed WAVE and AIFF files in practically any bit depth and resolution as well as REX files.
I have Reason, can I "upgrade" to Record?
Reason owners will be able to purchase Record at a discount, once it becomes available.
Will Reason 1.0, 2.0, 2.5 or 3.0 work with Record?

What happens if I buy Reason now - is there a grace period?
Hold on to your receipt! Anybody purchasing a new full retail copy of Reason between May 11th 2009 and September 9th 2009 will be offered a $50 USD / €30 EUR rebate when they purchase Record for Reason Owners. Details will be announced closer to the release.
Will you have any form of copy protection?
Propellerhead products have used various types of copy protection over the years. In Record, the copy protection is based on a USB device called the Propellerhead Ignition Key. Get the full details here.
Can I be a beta tester? How? When?
Yes, anyone with a Propellerhead user account can sign up to help us beta test Record. To become a beta tester, please sign up here.
Will Record work on my 64-bit operating system?
Record itself is a 32-bit application, but works fine on 64-bit operating systems.
Does Record support multiple processors or processor cores?
Yes. Record makes use of extremely efficient multi-core audio rendering, making the software very lightweight, even with large projects.
Can I use ReFills with Record?
Since most ReFill libraries depend on devices not available in Record (such as the Thor synthesizer or the NN-XT sampler), most ReFills requires that you have both Record and Reason registered on your account.
If you have both Record and Reason registered on your account, all Reason devices will be available within Record, making Record fully compatible with ReFills.
When will it be available?
Record is currently in beta, and will be available for purchase through your favorite Propellerhead dealer worldwide on September 9, 2009.
How much will it cost?
Record will be available for purchase through your favorite Propellerhead dealer worldwide on September 9, 2009 at a suggested retail price of $299 USD / €299 EUR.
There will also be a discounted version for Reason owners available, as well as a bundle of Record and Reason.
