Michael Angelo Batio & Carmine Appice Gig @ The Cavern - A Huge Success!
Dolphin Music would like to thank the crowd who packed the world-famous Cavern Club last night and made this event a huge success! Michael Angelo Batio, Carmine Appice and the Dean All-Star Band totally rocked the venue!
The Cavern Club, located on Mathew Street, Liverpool, was a hot and sweaty place last Monday night, when crowds gathered to attend the event organized by Dolphin Music and Dean Guitars.
Shred Master Michael Angelo Batio, drummer legend Carmine Appice and the Dean All Star Band (which included Dean Guitars' Owner himself, Elliot Rubinson) gave a true rock'n'roll masterclass, and everyone who attended seemed to be having a fantastic time. Who said Mondays have to be boring, eh?
The atmosphere couldn't be any better, and Michael Angelo Batio didn't disappoint with his guitar clinic, which was basically answering questions from the crowd, and showing some of his guitar 'Fastest Shredder In The World' skills, mainly on his cool Dean MAB2 "Aviator" Signature Guitar.
So what did we learn? That Batio doesn't like 7-string guitars (popular with metal bands) because he loves the sound of bass guitars and thinks guitars shouldn't go so low.
The charismatic Michael Angelo Batio also joked that if alive today, Jimi Hendrix perhaps would have to go to anger management classes...Batio said he likes to keep his guitars safe and would never dream of smashing or setting fire to one of his. Good tip!
Batio did a few heavy metal poses for the crowd, and, on a more serious note, said that musicians should always be open to listeting to different music styles, not just the styles they play.
He was then joined by Dean demonstrator Matt Speed for a blues guitar duel that was really cool...and kinda proved his point!
But the highlight of his clinic was, of course, when he picked his custom double neck guitar and shredded away!

Next up was Carmine Appice for his DDrums clinic, who also didn't disappoint, and kept the atmosphere up.
Drummers don't come much more legendary than Appice, who collaborated with artists such as Ozzy Osbourne, Rod Stewart and Jeff Beck. His beats were quite simply hypnotic, and his style reminded us a bit of John Bonham. Classic and Classy.
Carmine Appice showed some interesting rhythms (which he assured guitarists would hate) and got the crowd to "drum" along to his beats.
Appice was demonstrating the DDrum range of drums, which are great of course!
The mood was set then, for the great rock'n'roll finale, when Appice was joined by Batio and the Dean All Star Band.
This supergroup played a great set which included some rock classics such as Cream's Sunshine Of Your Love and some Led Zep tunes.
The audience loved it and everyone seemed to be up for more, but even the best rock gigs must come to an end, eventually!
After the set, while people gathered around the rock stars for photos and autographs, Dolphin Music was already dreaming of doing another event at the Cavern, as good as this one!
