Dolphin Music are delivering a Music Technology course at Campion City Learning Centre in Liverpool on October 24th and 25th. The course will concerntrate on teaching Teachers how to teach Steinberg Cubase and Propellerhead Reason.

The course spans two days and is broken into short focused sessions. The Intensive Training Course in Music Technology for Education offered by Dolphin Music aims to teach attendees how to use a range of music software specifically Steinberg Cubase and Propellorhead Reason. Applications for KS3, KS4 [with particular reference to GCSE] and AS/A Level, vocational and adult learning will be examined. Hardware requirements with some technical background are also included.

In short, the two day intensive training course offers everything those attending would need to set up and effectively utilise cutting edge music technology resources as part of their music curriculum.

For each session delegates will be given detailed notes and exemplar resources.


Day 1 - For the most part day you will be exploring the basics of MIDI sequencing and audio recording, editing and arranging using Propellerheads’ Reason virtual studio and Steinberg’s Cubase. These will be the main applications covered although in day two demonstrations of alternative software will be included.

Day 2 - Day two develops your knowledge on music technology with an exploration of digital recording technology. How music technology can be utilised in the classroom will be covered. There is also an opportunity to ‘have a go’ with MIDI sequencing in Reason.

Prices for the 2 days will be £500 per teacher which will cover a full set of notes from the course plus a full copy of Reason 3.0 and Cubase SE (worth £400) to take home plus Tea/ Coffee and Lunch for each day.
