Queen's Award for G7th
UK capo company scoops Enterprise award for international trade
UK-based G7th, the UK capo design and manufacturing operation is celebrating the news that it has been awarded a Queen's Award for Enterprise 2009. The award, recognises the achievements of G7th in international trade. Exports have doubled in just over two years and 85 per cent of G7th’s production is now exported to 30 countries worldwide. The company reported that sales are set to increase by a further 30 per cent this year, despite the economic downturn.
“G7th is a small company, but we have a great team around us”, commented G7ths managing director, Noel Sheehan. “We have the best designers and sales team and are supported by a network of highly professional distributors and retailers around the world. Without doubt this award reflects the superb efforts of everyone involved in the brand.”
Not only is G7th the smallest MI company ever to win the prestigious Queen’s Award, Sheehan also believes his is certainly the smallest company of all this year. “I think this says a lot about hoiw well G7th has done,” Sheehan told MI Pro.
G7th launched its first capo in 2004 and has been picking up awards ever since, including the UK Guitarist Magazine gold award and, most recently, a double gold award in 2009 from the US Acoustic Guitar magazine. In just five years, G7th has come to be recognised as a market leader with a strong premium brand image.
The capo company stands out alongside Orange Amplification as MI companies receiving the award this year.
