Little Boots & Santigold Have A Field Day - Mystery Jets & The Horrors Also Added To Festival Bill
Cosmic synth-pop chanteuse Little Boots and electro-dancehall queen Santigold have just been added to the bill for Field Day – the one-day festival in east London's Victoria Park on Saturday 1st August that's occurring the day after the Tiesto fiesta.
Psychedelic rockers Mystery Jets, Peaches Geldof's ex Faris Badwan's band The Horrors, and Argentinian singer-songwriter Juana Molina have also been added. They join Mogwai, Four Tet, Aeroplane, dubstepper Skream and Mystery Jets producer Erol Alkan who had already been confirmed.
Little Boots, aka Victoria Hesketh, has been rapidly ascending the ranks with her quirky electro synth-pop sound. The former Pop Idol contestant has her first album 'Hands', out June 6th, ready to go. It contains a duet with Phil Oakey, singer of seminal 80s synth-poppers the Human League.
Santigold, meanwhile, has confirmed the only other UK festival appearance she'll make in the UK this summer – alongside Field Day's sister festival Underage. Santigold, formerly Santogold, has worked with Mark Ronson, Pharrell, Sinden and M.I.A amongst others, and is a future talent to behold.
Field Day is a collaboration between London promoters Eat Your Own Ears, Adventures In The Beetroot Field and Bugged Out! Alongside the top-notch line-up they'll be transforming London's Victoria Park into something resembling a village fete. Punters will be able to play tombola, throw balls at the coconut shy, get involved in sack races... all manner of activities that you might find at a village fayre.
