Get Recorded, get noticed and get better with Yamaha at LIMS
Yamaha are taking a radically different approach to this year’s LIMS (London International Music Show). Whilst they will, of course, be showcasing all the very latest guitars, drums and music production products, the focus of the stand is a unique 'up close and personal' approach with free professional recording opportunities on offer for the company's popular Band for a Grand promotion. Also on hand will be top Yamaha artists and leading practitioners ready to help visitors with their music making techniques. For anyone serious about their music, the Yamaha stand should be the show's number one destination.
For LIMS 2009 Yamaha have devised a unique combination of experiences and events aimed specifically at helping musicians and upcoming sound engineers. Those attending will be able to benefit from advice from top industry professionals, and there will be an opportunity to have their material professionally recorded for free and instantly uploaded to Yamaha's popular Download Live music site, fresh from the Download Mobile. The centerpiece of the stand will be a classic sixties US Airstream trailer converted into a professional state-of-the-art recording facility and manned by a team of renowned engineers and producers.
The Download Mobile will be dedicated to Yamaha 's popular Band for a Grand scheme. The team of top industry professionals manning the Mobile will be giving up their time to offer those attending a unique opportunity not only to record in a first class studio environment, but also to get their material noticed through Yamaha's comprehensive online marketing tools.
Launched in 2008, Yamaha's Band for a Grand scheme has proved hugely popular since it offers upcoming bands significant help and incentives, including professional studio time and a range of free gear. The winning bands are determined by public votes each month. The LIMS Band for a Grand programme is bound to be very popular so bands are required to register in advance by logging onto www.yamahadownload.co.uk Yamaha will then notify successful entrants of their Airstream time slots.
Many of Yamaha's top artists – and a number of professional instrument techs who have worked with many of the biggest acts around – will also be in attendance, and many of them will be participating in one-to-one tutorials and group sessions.
Felicity Gregory, Yamaha’s Artist Relations Manager comments, "Our aim at this show is to ensure that everyone who visits the Yamaha stand gets something to take away. We want all the people who visit the Yamaha stand at LIMS to achieve something that will allow them to improve on their skills as music makers, and we are helping that process by bringing along some of the industry’s top names, all of whom are committed to passing on invaluable knowledge and advice. Yamaha top demonstrators will also be on hand throughout, putting the latest instruments through their paces.
Complimenting the Download Mobile will be all the latest Yamaha PULSE concept zones. These areas will provide interactive experience of Yamaha's music production tools and the award winning DTX electronic drum range, all manned by Yamaha product specialists. The concept zones will also play host to the world launch of range of new products.
For the first time outside professional Commercial Audio events the Yamaha stand will also boast the acclaimed PM5D large-format digital mixing consoles. Visitors will be able to operate one of the industry’s most popular and advanced desks and create their own live mixes!
