At the top of the Clavinova range is the CGP1000, which is housed in a real grand piano cabinet – a truly substantial instrument. However, the CGP1000 is the instrument of choice for John Henry’s, one of the largest musical equipment hire companies in the UK.
Established for over 30 years, John Henry’s supply a vast selection of instruments and equipment to concert venues, theatres, TV and film studios and tours covering all musical genres. The company has worked with some of the biggest names from the world of music and entertainment, from Tom Jones to Strictly Come Dancing.

So why is the CGP1000 proving such a worthy addition to their fleet of pianos? As John Henry, founder of the company explained ‘The CGP1000 fits the bill from everyone’s perspective. It looks great on stage, sounds fantastic, never needs tuning and has a good MIDI specification. Add to this, although it is a full size grand piano, it is comparatively easy to move and the CGP is the ideal rental instrument.’ So where has the CGP been used? As John explained ‘The CGP was used every week on the Jonathan Ross show and stayed at the BBC for the Saturday evening live show of Strictly Come Dancing. A recent tour with The Osmond’s and the Variety Club Awards used the instrument. This is only scratching the surface, the CGP really has been on the move over the past few months, and Yamaha legendary reliability has proved its worth, with no problems to report.’
In fact the CGP1000 is proving so popular that John Henry’s have just placed another on order to add to the fleet.
