Tip for 2009: Godin Guitars, Arriving Soon!
From modern designs to traditional archtop models, Godin offers some truly outstanding guitars, that you'll fall in love with!

Godin are a Canadian company with their head office located in Montreal and they build their guitars in several different locations, five in Quebec and one in New Hampshire.. For those of you keeping score, that adds up to six factories spread out over about 1000 kilometers. So why not just have one giant guitar factory?
Although there are some obvious inconveniences associated with spreading themselves out this much, the up-side is that these smaller operations promote a more intimate working environment which gets everybody more involved and this is reflected in the instruments themselves.
Godin guitars are assembled in Richmond, Quebec and Berlin, New Hampshire factories. The necks and bodies are all made in their original location in La Patrie, Quebec.

Godin 5th Avenue: Beautiful, traditional designs like the classic Gibson archtops |
With several different models due to arrive soon at Dolphin (view stock here) Godin offer designs that will appeal to traditionalists who love the classic look of those old Gibson archtops, and designs that look to the future and will appeal to modern guitarists, including models that offer MIDI connectivity.
Here's a look at some features:

Synth Access & Tracking
Guitars that include synth-triggering capabilities have been a Godin specialty for several years now, such as the sonically powerful LGXT. Each of these guitars produces a divided output (called hexaphonic) via a 13-pin connector that plugs directly into RolandTM GR-Series guitar synths.
Tracking is the term used to describe the speed at which an instrument can recognize pitch and trigger the synth. All of the Godin synth access guitars have been designed with synth triggering in mind—as opposed to retrofitting old models—and each one offers exceptionally fast and accurate tracking.

Famous Godin players include Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Leonard Cohen, Richie Blackmore, David Crosby, Wyclef Jean, Jeff Lyne.
