With the debut of the Yamaha Clavinova CVP409GP at Winter NAMM 2009, the world's most innovative and technologically advanced digital piano line now offers a luxurious, mini-grand piano style cabinet option.

The cabinet's polished Ebony finish and synthetic Ivory keytops create a more authentic look and feel. A natural wood keyboard and Yamaha's Graded Hammer 3 technology accurately reproduce the experience of playing a grand piano, including the authentic touch and weight of the keys. Yamaha's groundbreaking Instrumental Active Field Control (iAFC) technology uses built-in microphones and speakers to reproduce complex sonic textures, creating a richly resonant and truly unparalleled sound.

"With this new cabinet option, the CVP409GP offers a striking design statement to match the instrument's remarkable expressiveness, authentic grand piano sound and feel," says Dane Madsen, digital piano marketing manager, Keyboard Division, Yamaha Corporation of America. "This meticulous craftsmanship has earned the Clavinova line of digital pianos consistent acclaim from Musical Merchandise Review magazine and many other respected music industry leaders."

The CVP409GP enables users to record fully orchestrated performances—with vocals—to a USB thumb drive. These performances can then be turned into CDs or sound files using iTunes or Windows Media Player, and shared with friends on disc, in person, or over the Internet. For the added convenience of fewer external interfaces, the Clavinova CVP400 Series is the first with a built-in LAN port.

Auto Accompaniment, Style and Sampled Instrument Voices automatically produce authentic, full backing parts in a range of genres, just like an expert band would play. The CVP409 also offers a microphone input jack for players who want to sing along with their keyboard performance, as well as Vocal Harmony effects.

Using Music Finder and Internet Direct Connection (IDC), Clavinova users can discover a new world of online music on Yamaha's IDC website. From the extra-large full color LCD display, players with a high-speed Internet connection can add styles to their Clavinova's library or download song files. For a nominal fee, IDC also includes unlimited access to three months of beginner-level lessons.

The Yamaha Clavinova is used by prominent music schools and musicians around the globe, including opera star Andrea Bocelli, Yamaha artist and GRAMMY®-nominated vocalist Josh Groban, and Yamaha artist Isaac Slade of The Fray.
